    Horrific
    Isn't it!
Whats even more mad is even if State Man were to win a Grade 1 on the way to the fez he'd probably still be 4 or maybe 5's on the day if the top two both turn up and are what we think they are. Lots of ifs buts maybes but its just so so bad.

Looks like Ascot Hurdle for CH. Out to 8/13 in Fighting Fifth from opening 1/3 and Epatante into 15/8 from 5's. Either that or he's Very Fat !

Yeah Unibet have a video up on YouTube with Nicky. Epatante to Newcastle and Constitution Hill to Ascot it is at the moment. An early loser for me that one.

Willie sounding like he's edging towards the Champion Hurdle for Sir Gerhard with each passing day...

“I was a little disappointed with a couple of his runs over hurdles, where he missed out hurdles and, at the start of the season I thought I would go novice chasing with him, but the more I look at the hurdles picture, I’m tempted to stay over hurdles with him.

“I have got to chat with Mrs Thompson and Chris Richardson, the whole Cheveley Park team, and see what their views are.

“There are pros and cons and my team at home are split on it as well. Obviously, he could go novice chasing then come back over hurdles, but I definitely haven’t ruled him out of a Champion Hurdle bid — we will see.”

....... he has mentioned potentially going chasing with Stateman and avoiding Cheltenham all together with Vauban so Sir G Champion Hurdle does fit. He struggled with his hurdling on occasions last season so maybe Chasing wouldn't suit.

Wouldn’t take much for that to be how it plays out I don’t think, 20s seams fair as a cover

The main reason Sir G went Ballymore instead of Supreme was because his hurdling wasn't slick enough. Unless there is a miraculous improvement he surely can't compete against the likes of Honeysuckle and Constitution Hill in The Champion Hurdle?

I just can't see him sending Vauban, state man and Sir Gerhard all to the CH, especially with honry and con Hill in there, that's not his MO of going for the easiest race.

I think it will be State Man that goes there. Vauban will be given time to mature and will mix the flat and easier hurdle races. Sir G will go novice chasing and will only revert if he does a 'Bob'.

Sir Gerhard going down champion hurdle route would be an odd decision, especially if State Man and Vauban are also in that division.
Especially going up against the 2 at the top of the market.
C Hill may look unbeatable by March.

In fact if they all go hurdling in open company.
The stayers bet for State Man or Sir Gerhard wouldn't be the daftest.

Sir G to win some useful prize money over hurdles outside the fez?

Yea, this bit doesn't make sense to me either. His reason for going for the champion hurdle is because he's not a very good jumper of a hurdle.

Seems to me like he's got so many quality horses for each race he's really struggling to split them to be honest. And I guess his novice chase divisions are particularly high in numbers!

I guess the Morgiana may give him a chance to weigh up Vauban a bit before deciding on whether he needs one or two of the others for a Champion Hurdle tilt.
