Lucky place has been given an entry for the relkeel hurdle, as was suggested by nicky Henderson after his ascot hurdle win.
The conditions for this race make this an extremely difficult task.
He'll be giving weight all round most notably 10lb to golden ace, 13lbs to gala marceau and he's conceding 2lb to langer dan.
This really looks to me a race ,which, if he wants to Skelton can win with langer dan.
There's no way he can get his rating down for a realistic chance in the coral cup, its impossible, the handicapper will not play ball this season.
For him to open at 10/1 when the race conditions favour him so heavily is quite Remarkable.
Ultimately i believe lucky place will thrive over 3miles, hopefully however this race pans out, afterwards, nicky Henderson will be thinking the same.

Final Demand goes for the 5yo P2P shortlist today in the 2m5f maiden at Limerick. My hopes of him being a dark one for the AB have weakened somewhat with this later than ideal starting point, but Willie does have previous with inexperienced horses winning the AB with The Nice Guy.
Kalix Delabarriere goes in the opener at Leopardstown but that is an incredibly hot maiden where the winner is likely going to be a big player during the season.
One thing both have to overcome is a slight cloud over the Mullins yard for though.

I've backed the win today/bartlett price for Final Demand at 66/1, mostly based on your assessment JackieMoon33
Let's hope he goes well.
Not too bothered by him starting this late, myself.

Where are we now on The Enablers festival hopes ?
After Workahead’s impressive performance on Boxing Day and the form line of his previous race with Jasmin, is The Enabler back in the picture for either the AB or Pipe?
Sundays race will be his fourth hurdle race of the season, so only one more run to qualify for the Pipe, but the current 12/1 looks skinny IMO….. so should we be backing him for the AB together with Sax’s steer for Argento Boy?

Golden Ace is a cracking bet to serve it up to BDA even if BDA runs in the Mares
If BDA goes to the CH with Lossiemouth, then only JDG is a threat IMO to Golden Ace and JDV has had a setback which will see her out in the new year ?
14/1 each way steal

Sold it to myself even more, so gonna shove some more on forthwith!
Maybe Kargese being a slight concern threat wise, based upon last years Juvenile form working out so well ....albeit we need to see her over 2 1/2 miles to see if she can stay in open companyLast edited by Wayward Lad; 28 December 2024, 11:02 AM.

The price differential is ridiculous IMO, as who is to say that GA hasnt also improved since last year?……and there is a chance within the 6/4 BDA for the Mares that BDA runs in the CH if she beats, or runs very close to State Man, whilst GA runs in the Mares 100% surely

Same track and only 3f further in the Mares, which will help some and not others
GC won the race fair and square last year IMO, so the BDA price is based upon the race this year being run at a searching pace to ensure it is a true test and her early season form beating State Man
My view is that a searching test may suit GA as well in order for her to come off the pace, as she clearly stays 2 1/2 miles
The games all about opinions and mine is that the price differential is much to large, especially as BDA may not even run in the Mares
14/1 =Steal of the Century !

Going off her run at Ascot I thought her stamina credentials looked somewhat exposed. Lucky Place who she'd previously toughed it out against had a slight weight pull and she was put in her place. I'll give her the benefit of the doubt, maybe she needed it, but the same could be said for Lucky Place.
The price could look alright if both Lossie and BDA head for the CH I guess.Long bitcoin, long gold, long silver, long g/s opening day Cheltenham Festival
