  • Port Joulain entered in the 5yo+ maiden on 29th at Leopardstown. The race Ballyburn won last year. Good news regarding his health at least. Being entered again so quickly implies it was a very minor tweak.

Ruby said he just had a very small cut after striking into himself. Glad he is out early enough again. Had a decent enough gallop to be more tuned up now. I'd be expecting a big run

      • No big surprises on the entries for the last 2 days

All the horses in the 4yo 2m race are in the 4yo 2m4, with the addition of Sermandzarak so that will be a test for any going there on seasonal debut.

QDB, HCH, Waterford Whispers, Shannon Royale, Chapeau De Soleil, Champ Kiely all in the 2m5 beginners

Final Demand in the 2m and 2m5 maidens down at Limerick

All the big guns stand their ground in the Faugheen

The one I'm most interested from todays entries is July Flower

3rd when last seen in the French Champion Hurdle to Losange Bleu and Hewick, she's been mixing it in Graded Company over in FR and has since came back to Henry after he had her for just the 1 run in an Aintree Bumper.

I've taken some on her on Betfair for the Mares Hurdle at decent prices, we all know Henry is top class when training these Mares, and currently, bar Brighterdaysahead, there isn't anything outstanding behind her that we've seen.

Not to be too pedantic but it was Jade De Grugy that won this race mate, Ballyburns was 29th, so tomorrows entries.

Edit - I only remember as I went back in on Jade when they pushed her to 50/1 so was waiting on her debut!

Ignore me mate was looking at the 28th haha and you mentioned the 29th!

            • Bit disappointed none of his other mares are entered in maidens over Xmas, not sure what that tells us to be honest.

Was hoping to see Kom Tu Voudras or Riskabahia entered up as I’m sure Venusienne was going to be later due to a minor setback.

Ricci said on the Chappers podcast Riskabahia would be entered up over Christmas, so unless shes entered around the new year, there might have been an issue there.

Kom Tu Voudras one I'm waiting on, but all quiet for her right now.

                  • No Jalon D'oudaries either. Thought he was meant to be out around now.

Aye that’s what I thought re Riskabahia, hopefully not an issue.

Yes those are the 2 (if Venusienne is looking doubtful) I’m hoping prove above what we’ve seen thus far!

365 have done a De Grugy with Riskabahia so if she’s entered up I’ll go back in. She was 33’s and have pushed her to 50’s. Will await an entry though.

Danny Mullins talked him up in an early season interview too. I'm fairly sure he confirmed his well-being. A very strange 'how-do-you-do'

                        • Away from the obvious and exciting novices being discussed...

Stay Away Fay in a Pertemps Qualifier is somewhat interesting. For all his hurdle form doesn't look to have lived up to all that much anymore on the face of it.

Wins that off 147 and he's probably competitive in the Stayers tbh. Rather than a Pertemps off that weight.

                            • Tony McFadden highlights five exciting novices who have yet to be seen this season but hold entries at Leopardstown's Christmas Festival.

                              • Kawaboomga (Simon Torrens) had nice form over hurdles in France and has every chance here.

Patrick takes the ride on Kopek Des Bordes and that’s a big indicator. He looked smart when winning the Tattersalls Sales Bumper at Fairyhouse and jumps fine. We are quite keen on his chance here.

Zillow (Danny) disappointed at Punchestown last month but with different tactics today we are expecting a better performance.

                                Maiden Hurdle 2 Miles

Joueur Masque (Simon Torrens) will have to improve from his run at Navan earlier this month and could find this difficult.

Redemption Day (Patrick) is a course winner and won a grade 1 bumper at Punchestown last time. That form should be good enough to see him get off the mark over hurdles today.

                                Juvenile Hurdle 2 Miles

We have a strong hand here and this race should be very informative as to where our horses lie in the juvenile ranks.

Sony Bill (Simon Torrens) won two out of four over hurdles in France and looks top drawer.

Willy De Houelle (Danny) disappointed us at Fairyhouse but a change of tactics today could make a big difference and he should leave that run behind.

Lady Vega Allen (Sean O’Keeffe) is closely related to Quevega and has good French hurdle form. She is quite smart at home.

Murcia (Mikey O’Sullivan) won a hurdle race in Auteuil and if the ground dries out further it will be to her advantage in a race that is difficult to assess.

                                Novice Handicap Hurdle 2 Miles

Johnny Blue (Danny) was a little disappointing over 2m 4f at Cork on his first run for us but we are expecting a much better showing here. Coming back in trip combined with different riding tactics could give him the edge here.

                                4YO Bumper 2 Miles

Green Splendour (Patrick) is a very nice sort having his first run for us. He shows plenty of ability at home and we are happy to nominate him as our sole representative in this race.
