But it was his first run and he may settle a bit better now he’s not so fresh.
Think he’s going to be pretty good at whatever distance proves to be his best chance at the festival.
My gut still says 2m but see how he does this week.
I hope he’s not an inbetween distance horse!!

Hopefully one of us will be happy

Peaky Boy goes again at Cheltenham on Saturday in another novice handicap, this time over 3m1f. He certainly looked like he'd handle a step up in trip after his winning debut, but this will be a real test. The shire horse Hillcrest carries top weight but Peaky Boy has to give weight to the rest of the field that includes plenty of progressive types.

Walsh could have the handbrake on like he did with some of the novice chasers last year first time up. Let him run in another beginners chase then for experience, or just go for the grade 1s without winning a beginners chase. If he wins a grade 1, happy days. If he doesn't, stay as a novice next year as a year older. That's what I'd be doing with him anyway.

With the Turners being revamped, I expect concentration of discussion will be Arkle and BANC. If targets become clear I suppose we can consider breaking this down into specific race threads. Ballyburn might get a few mentions. Latest betting; Arkle; Ballyburn 3, Firefox 8-1, JDG 10-1, IEP 10-1, Sir G 10-1, Irish Point 12-1,

Lawlor's of Naas early entries are out. A couple of notable inclusions/omissions.
No Kilgame, which is a slight surprise. Perhaps he's being kept to 2 miles this year. We may learn more tomorrow.
Salvator Mundi and Kel Histoire are included which implies that they are at least in consideration for the mid-trip. I appreciate that Willie block books, but he hasn't included all of his good novice hurdlers here. No Kaid D'authie, Redemption Day, Irancy, for example.
