GN is the plan though so very much doubt they'll bottom him in a Graded race at the fez . They'll want him fresh.

    • If he’s running with the handbrake on so to speak, most of the season, I doubt him being tuned up for 2 races is going to bottom him out. He’ll be flying come the spring festivals if anything. Plenty horses have run well/won at the festival and ran great races at Aintree, including the national itself. 23 days between the 2 races (I’m working off he’ll run in the Ryanair).

I agree with this. I think he'll run in the Ryanair and take a similar path to Capodano did last year.

JP seems to have a habit of running his National horses at the Festival and in the National. Anibale Fly used to grind it out in the GC before a National bid. The handbrake is only on until the weights are published IMO. If they feel Iroko can do well at both festivals, he will run at both.

Indeed. Only a 6yo (7 next year) with just 4 chase runs currently is a concern for me with regards experience. Only Noble Yeats has won at such a young age since the war though he had at least ran 7 times in chases. He had also competed in a couple of the biggest 3m handicap chases on the season so had vital big field experience.

Do you know much about Don't Tell Jack, the other JP horse that's the half to Hillcrest?

Nothing other than what was seen in his point. The horse that beat him (with Donald McCain) hasn't done much for the form though and was well beaten again today. He'd want much further though so they're probably just messing with him right now.

It's NRNB so I'm leaving it.

If you like having a 365 account I wouldn't even think of cashing that out for profit.

Very good. I suppose there could be NR's tomorrow as well even if it's on. Would that mean rule 4??
