We all ignored Saxons race planning when he was a surprise entry in 'that' NHC prep Cheltenham race as he had the wrong look about him. Didn't win ultimately but.

I don't think everyone ignored him, but yeah, plenty did, for sure. I was most certainly scrambling to get him onside after that race

I'm wondering if there is a change of tact from Gordon this season. The way he campaigned Salvador Ziggy, case in point. Assuming he ends up in the NH Chase as it looked as though this was the route, he ended up in the American Grand National, which was nothing like the route he'd normally take for a horse for that race at the festival.

Maybe he's clocked on to Saxon Warrior good work and thought he'd shuffle it about a bit
I weirdly thought the same thing, then laughed out loud at the lunacy of that thought.

          I'm with you COD.

Price is far too big. Envoi 4/4 at DR. Has fitness advantage over Gerri. Won the race last year from a strong field. His 3rd last time can now be marked up having to give weight to Gentlemansgame. Rach on board. Certainly be a big test for the GC wanabee.

          • Not a this weeks entries but see Mister Policeman is entered in the Hattons Grace now but not the Drinmore.

So that’s 2 grade 1 hurdles he’s entered in at varying distances and not a chase

              • Most of the same horses entered at Fairyhouse Tuesday beginners chase for WPM as entered at Naas Sunday.

Surely he’ll enter a couple each race day

DB Cooper entered in the bumper at Fairyhouse.

Yeah, absolute madness thinking Gordon can actually read.

When looking at others entered you'd think it extrenely unlikely he'll turn up and I know he has form for bulk entries, but he did leave the door open to hurdling in his stable tour. Hopefully nothing in it and just covering off eventualities as others have said, his better ones tend to turn up in December, I think, for races that wont require such early entries. Still, much rather not see it

The entries will be in case of injury to IEP and/or State Man.

Seems like they think he’s the best he’s got for that stand-in Grade 1 Hurdle role, than any of the others he’s sending chasing.

That in itself could be viewed as a big positive as it would mean they think he's a better hudler than Facile Vega.

                              • Looks like The Yellow Clay a NR in the Down Royal Bumper today. Gordon did say he'd hate winter ground although it's only soft today.
