  • Down Memory Lane got the entry on Saturday over 2m

Pretty much the same bumper horses entered on Saturday as Friday so none the wiser there. I'd say it's between Romeo Coolio, DB Cooper and Jalon D'oudairies for the Saturday.

Nothing for The Yellow Clay. I think Gordon indicated at his open day that The Yellow Clay would get an entry here, so perhaps something is amiss or he's missed a bit of work.

Could be ground related if it's bad at Down Royal.

"He won a Listed bumper last season, so I'd say he's a fair horse. The only thing I would say is that I don't think he's going to be in love with proper heavy winter ground. We brought him away to work at Tipperary last week and he went in one of the later schooling races and he hated the ground. He goes novice hurdling and we're looking forward to that."

Weather has been brutal here and think only time getting bit of respite is bit on Friday. But bound to be soft at least! So could be right

            • Because of the potential bad ground Kala Conti should run in the Juvenile race but could be flattered if it wins easy because of favoured conditions.

              • Hopefully we see An Tobar or Theatre Native take up the option on Saturday at Down Royal and take one one or two of Elliott's horses. Irish Panther also entered

                  • I've not seen much mention of Jersey des Brosses as a bumper candidate, is that purely a Gigginstown thing or do the stats not match up from his P2P debut? Genuinely interested as this one holds the key entries too and Gigg had to part with 370k to secure the horse, I know a few have been burned over the years with this but I am just surprised to see very little mention.

Fully prepared to be pointed in the direction of JDB discussion but I've been a bit busy lately

The below ruled him out for me and it’s more likely Jalon D’oudairies will be the Giggy bumper horse if they run one.

“Second in an Oldtown point for Colin Bowe in February. This could be a lovely horse for down the road. Whether he is an out-and-out bumper horse, I'm not so sure. He will be a proper staying chaser in a few years time.”

Why?? Some of the others might love it deep as well.

There's an RP article saying they want to run in Betfair Chase as well (although in fairness, I'm happy to discount Henderson saying he wants to run Luccia at Wetherby soooo... )

“Our intention is to run in the Betfair Chase,” he said. “We put an entry in for the Charlie Hall just so it’s an option. If we get a bad long-term forecast for the north west then we may have a think about it, and he wouldn't run at Haydock on anything worse than soft.

“I think he’s in the prime of his life now so we’ve got to go for the biggest races which is why we’re aiming for Haydock. I’d have to respect Protektorat and Shishkin and any Irish representatives, but he’s won at the track before and I think it suits him. I’d go there with very high hopes.”
He'll run this weekend. Haydock could be even more of a slog and PN will stick to what's worked in the past.

                              Exactly
They want to run in the biggest races so Haydock, Kempton and Cheltenham.
If they run him this week on heavy ground that rules out Haydock I would think.

                              • Plan is to run this weekend, but due some right storms between now and saturday so it will be interesting to see if he takes up the engagement, providing racing is actually on
