Hello Fat Jockeys,

Upgrading the Fat Jockey forum!: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/fatjockeyforum

We're looking to upgrade the 'hosting CPU' so I've set up a crowdfunding project.

I would love it if you could donate using the link below to access my project page. Any contribution large or small will be hugely appreciated. Thank you.

  • Ruby said immediate after Cheltenham “don’t assume Willie will keep IEP to 2 1/2 miles at Punchestown”. So it’s definitely a genuine option.

Ruby also said he thinks they'll keep him over hurdles (dependant on Constitution Hill, i suppose). It all points to a Champion Hurdle campaign to me.

I've also put two and two together here and thought they'll probably keep State Man over hurdles to help keep him sound so the cogs fit quite well to avoid a chasing Constitution with State Man (CH), Impaire (Turners)

More of an inkling than anything else as nothing has been said by WPM.

Cheers, it looks like a lot more people have the same inkling and I'm running against the grain a bit with my thought process. Something for me to ponder over the next few weeks.

The Ruby comments above also explain why Paddy go shorter than everyone else Impaire for the CHurdle and longer for the Turners. Hmm...

          • State Man has done nothing wrong over hurdles and has only been beaten by Constitution Hill whilst trained by Willie so I can't see him running in anything else but the Champion Hurdle next season. Willie also said Vauban could struggle as a 5yo this year and that he'd have a much better chance next season so he looks nailed on for the Champion Hurdle as well. I just can't see Willie wasting three really good bullets in the race so for me IEP will go chasing along with Facile Vega.

I backed Impaire for the Turners before he ran in the Ballymore but the only way I see them going over fences now, is if CH stays over hurdles. He's only 5 so another year over hurdles shouldn't hinder his chasing career too much.

I'll probably do Impaire Et Passe and Constitution Hill (Arkle) as related doubles at some stage. Almost 13/1 for the double isn't bad.

This is still my thought process atm but if Impaire goes the 2m route at Punchestown and wins easily against Marine, it leaves Facile to go for the Turners having been beaten twice at 2m already. There is logic on that side of things as well that I perhaps blinded myself to over the last couple of weeks. Nothing major lost if IEP doesn't go Turners but it would be a sucker punch as after 3 roll ups (2 successful), he'd pay for half of my outlay already...

                • Nothing much scares Willie so he may well take on C Hill with IEP in the Arkle if he ends up there. There's far too many ifs and buts to be confident about any horse's target ATM. Need to just concentrate on Galopin, Galopin and Galopin.

                  • Arctic Bresil, Dee Capo and Grand Slam Sam all take up their entries on Sunday, they’ll need to be above average to beat Brighterdaysahead I’d think. Also The Gunner takes his chance in the Grade 2 over two and a half miles. On jockey bookings he looks like the third string though. I was hoping he’d turn up at Punchestown over 3m, where he has an entry, but they come here instead. Got Glory goes straight into the Grade 1 mares novice over two and a half for her first start for the yard and over hurdles. I’m guessing it’s a fact finding mission as it’s a very deep race and jockey bookings suggest shes far from first string.

That’s interesting. I think both of those will be re opposing in decent hurdle races next season too.

33s Supreme, 25/1 best Ballymore (20s with cashout)

For me, zero chance either will be in the Supreme. I could see one in the AB for sure.

Surprised by that JM, I thought Ile Atlantique looked pure class bar the last furlong when Patrick got mugged, he was back in the lead 50yds after the line again and just tried to play it too smug imo. I could see a strong 2m pace being ideal for him, and his Leopardstown run aint working out too bad either really, beating No time to wait by 5 1/2L who was beaten around 10L in the champ bumper and feronily showing himself to be a graded horse too.

Of the 2 of them, I could definitely see Ile Atlantique being a supreme or bally horse, and Ballyburn being a Bally/bartlett type imo.

I think they’ll both be contesting good races next season and there is every chance I’ve got Ile Atlantique wrong. He needs to show he can finish his race on Monday though as he should not have lost that last race.
