25/1 just felt like a no brainer to me. He's still odds on I'd say to go down the NHC route but if he won one of these grades races or a National off a big weight then they could aim him higher. All depends on what else Gordon has as well. Absolute Notions is already out of the equation so that's one down.

        • …looks like the plan is to start Corach at Kelso before heading to the Betfair Chase:

Lucinda Russell is targeting a tilt at the Betfair Chase with her Randox Grand National winner Corach Rambler.

          • I saw a flyer yesterday, can't remember if it was Racing Post or Sporting Life or something but it listed horses that are running this week, Dysart Enos, A Dream to Share, Conflated, Minella Indo, Delta Work, finally feels like the jump season.
All we need now is this balmy 25 degree weather to do one...

Willie won't be running anything until February If this carries on

No, I think we'll be OK on that score unless the next 4 weeks brings no rain. A very wet summer here in Ireland, Listowel's festival meeting 3 weeks back was run in soft to heavy conditions. Thurles, Downpatrick and Fairyhouse at the end of last week, all soft.

Ohhhhh I prefer my BANC fancies to have started over 2 and a half, not 3

Nicholls confirmed today that SAF will start out over 3m too, in case you are interested.

                              Thanks
Yeah, if I recall correctly, there is a strong trend where BANC horses have started and won over shorter distances before stepping up to 3. Makes sense given how sharp the course is for the BANC.
