I've had a look at the Aintree results and Jonbon and Epatante are the only two that I can think of that were in anyway fancied to run well at Cheltenham. The former was fairly short. Epatante I don't think many people really saw winning but wasn't a massive price.

The other 17 either didn't run or didn't have much of a chance. Noble Yeats probably next on the list

Zero horses that won in 2021 followed up at the Fez in 22.

          • There is a real talking horse running today in a PTP at Dromahane called Bigcitylights. Trainer has said he could be the best he’s ever had and he brought through Monkfish.

17 hands isn’t he?! Trainer obviously has a certain ‘type’.

NR, his price tag has surely been talked up enough already. Video of Doyle talking about him on YT they all seam super keen.

A Gordon and Bective Stud 300k+ purchase beckons

Do you think he’s been sold beforehand? Thus the withdrawal?

There is probably a good chance of that, or the ground may have not been to their liking.

Yeah that’s the video I saw. Interesting one to follow to see if he lives up to the hype that’s for sure.

                      • I'm sure I have waffled on about this one before when I was convinced Whatdeawant needed 3 miles plus. Owners obviously wanted a Ballymore horse last year which probably didn't help my case. Not seen since November when we'll beaten by Classic Getaway with yet another inadequate trip (albeit chasing) resulting in WDW plugging on. He now has an entry in the Punchestown Stayers hurdle which is music to my ears, I requested odds on both the Stayers hurdle (50s Coral best so far) and the National Hunt chase (25s 365 best so far).

It's one I feel is worth monitoring given there seems be less Stayers coming through (that we know of anyway) that will be good enough. I really think Whatdeawant is capable of that and I've always put it down to trip.

Whilst I prefer the Stayers route, he does have second season novice status over fences which ticks another NHC box. Interested to hear if this is one anyone else has on their radar or whether I'm going it alone for a third and final year (hopefully with the desired 3 mile+ trip at last).

                          • Aurora Vega had a couple of entries this week - not declared for either.

Based on the tracks and timing, I’m not sure they think she’s a world beater.

This is correct JM... Obviously what they do at home and on the track can differ wildly, but I wouldn't be getting too excited by her from what I'm told.
