An interesting newcomer, Johnnywho, entered at Taunton on Thursday in a bumper. Previously handled by Ellmarie Holden and sold privately to JP, now trained by Jonjo. He finished 19l clear of Hermes Allen in his only P2P. Could be a nice sort.

Its like saying Claudio Ranieri should still be manager of Leicester as he won them the league. They would probably be in the championship now. (Although currently they are shite too)

I did say Perhaps. I have no idea how or why he chooses his trainers, but it does seem to me he likes to support a fair range of trainers and I for one like that. Good for the sport imo.

Most would agree JP’s charity is good for the sport.
Yes he could send 400 horses to Mullins and co. but he would be ridiculed for doing just that.
He’s a patron of the sport that keeps many heads above water.

At the moment my opinion it will be death by a thousand cuts, though may be held off a bit by Labour winning the next election (will sound surprising to many of you, but the Blairite cabal now puppeteering Starmer are well cosy with bookies and the industry - Tom Watson is at Flutter and Dugher at the BGC. Even a couple of allies of Corbyn used to take the bookie buses up to Cheltenham for a freebie. Suspect if Sunak doesn't publish the white paper a lot of it will get put on the backburner if he loses next year - purely imo of course)
But a couple of things could really accelerate it imo
- a proper horror show Grand National
- bookie levy collapsing
- JP withdraws
- also kinda think as much as I rip him, Hendo jacking it in, depending on what happens after could be pretty bad too, though Skelton and Nichols showed some fight back this year so not as worried about this
though I'll stop clogging up the entries thread with my opinions now!
