….a perfectly reasonable case has been made for Gala Marceau in the Triumph Hurdle by a few on here. Rumoured to be heading to W Mullins, so the odds will likely have a haircut when that is confirmed.

Price has contracted with Sky this week but still 33-1 with 365, I’ll nominate her.

Edwardstone Champion Chase. No better 16/1 shot imo.

                Epatante 25/1 champion hurdle

Looks a good place chance to me, don't see them being in a rush to go to the less prestigious mares hurdle with her. Especially with her getting outstayed by stablemate Marie's rock at a more speed favouring track in punchestown.

                blazing khal 20/1 brown advisory

Very talented but comes with injury risks hence the price

Blue Lord 33/1 or my drogo 25/1 ryanair

A paper thin looking race, with loads of very likely non runners. Wouldn't be surprised at all if one of these chases home allaho.

                Stattler 20/1 gold cup

Progressive, unexposed, good jumper, guaranteed stayer. Could easily fill one of the places in this.

Tough to find big priced ones at this stage without taking huge risks on unraced horses or on horses with undefined targets.

Those are a few I think could hit the frame at big prices.

It'll be either that or novice chasing you'd imagine. The injury is a big concern for me though.

Here's four I'd throw into the mix at longer odds. As you'd expect with the odds, some big question marks but I think worth consideration:

Jet Powered (Supreme) 20-1: Feels the best profile for a likely Henderson runner at present in a race he has a fine record in. Of course, Jet Powered hasn't been seen outside his PTP yet...

Gentlemansgame (Brown Advisory) 33-1: OR probably inflated by running in open company but at 150 it's one of the highest for a staying novice chaser. He's young, liable to improve and has good PTP form behind him, I don't think he's better than The Nice Guy but I think 33s feels a bit generous.

Stattler (Gold Cup) 20-1: That run in the NHC was one of the performances of the Festival for me. I think he's got a fantastic shot as a second season chaser in the Gold Cup; it's the strength of the division that is the main worry for me.

Three Stripe Life (Turners) 14-1: Case has been made widely on the forum. It's a division traditionally with few surprises and I think it could be between him and whichever Mullins novice ends up here.

I also like Blazing Khal at 20-1 for the Brown Advisory given his performances at Cheltenham and his form through Gelino Bello and Ballygriffin Cottage but would understand if people were worried about return from injury.

I've backed them all in singles but I haven't got a strong enough view to add them to multiples yet!

I’d throw in Langer Dan - Stayers Hurdle as a longshot 33/1 price.

I did tip him up for the race a season ago (66/1), but his injury kept him off and I managed to Cashout that bet.

Dan Skelton’s interview after the win at Aintree was very interesting.

“Langer Dan has got a phenomenal attitude and I'm chuffed to bits. He's tiny but he's got the heart of a lion. We had that plan three weeks ago but that's racing. I was actually more disappointed the year before when we got beat by the horse of Willie's [Galopin Des Champs], who was clearly a Grade 1 horse in a handicap, than I was when we got brought down at the second. I believe he's ready for the next level, whether he's good enough to win a West Yorkshire Hurdle, we'll go and find out” - Dan Skelton, trainer.

He is starting him out in a Grade 2 Hurdle over 3M, rather than continuing through another handicap rated only 145 still.

We know Dan loves a good big handicap pot, so to risk losing a mark he could win one with, to go straight into an open Stayers Hurdle type programme, tells me all I needed to know, back in April, to make him an early pick for the Stayers.

Dan has had a 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each of the last three West Yorkshire Hurdles.

The ones who came 2nd and 3rd were both lower rated than Langer Dan is already, so LD should be close up if the quality of this years race isn’t above the last 3 years.

The one who he won it with was Roksana, who then went on to the Grade 1 Long Walk Hurdle next time out.

I would like to think that could become a route Langer Dan would take if successful.
