  • April 2022 - Forum Yankee.

April is upon us. Aintree is a week away . ( or less) .
I'm interested to see how he runs at Aintree , But Ahoy Senor i am still interested in for the Gold cup. @ 20-1. generally.
Definitely need's to brush up his jumping , but i thought he was gone in the r.s.a and yet he rallied and stormed up the hill to
finish second to L'Homme Presse .
I can imagine it will be intensive jumping practice for ahoy senor in the autumn , But definitely interested in Ahoy for the Gold Cup.

….I suggest this Yankee revolves around Punchestown & more appropriately Saxon Warrior excellent big race analysis of the Punchestown Festival later this month. I know MoM alluded to this a few months ago.

(I suppose there is the option of having 2 efforts, one solely on Punchestown if SW comes up with 4 selections).

Agreed. Looking forward to it already!

Two I love for the Gold Cup, Stattler and Conflated but with Conflated heading to Aintree there has to be a chance the current 40/1 being offered disappears by the time the yankee is finalised.
Aintree and Punchestown could alter plenty of prices…

If Sax was happy with this, it’s good with me. No pressure on him to oblige though haha.

Anything to take from Aintree that will now be on holiday ?
Conflated Gold Cup is standout for me…

Three stripe life has been confirmed to be going chasing after Aintree and looks like the type to improve for the switch to the larger obstacles

Not sure there's much juice in his price though as he's likely to be vulnerable to a mullins star

My other concern/thought was that he might go over 3 miles. I had thought he was a stayer from his bumper runs, so was surprised with the 2m entries over the most of the season. He didn't look to be slowing over 2m5 at Chelts (if anything coming back to SG ever so slightly) and cruised into his Aintree race.

What's people's thoughts on Langer Dan for the Stayers Hurdle?

Dan Skelton said he's tiny and going to be aimed at the Yorkshire hurdle next year so is staying hurdling.

Handicaps might still be an option depending on rating but it also might skip the festival next year.

That form behind GDC in the MP is hard to forget and makes me think he's a grade 1 horse.

I'd say turner's personally given how strongly he travelled the other day and the way he kicked away

Don't really see him as a 3 miler yet

He certainly travels like a graded horse

Yeah, don't disagree, though I'd imagine they're fed up with seeing Sir Gerhards backside so may well step up if that one goes chasing.
Always a guess up at this time of year but right now Turners probably looks the race that suits best...

I agree, think turners is most likely.

Think we can add GDM for the NHC to this.
