Can see it being his likely target and if they get a clear run with him this season he could be a force to be reckoned with

Seeming to be a little fragile now with niggly setbacks isn't he? If adding to the book, I'd definitely be doing it with cashout.

But at 12/1 I'd say that's already factored in to his price

I'd have him as a better horse than almost all of the other horses bar sir gerhard in the betting

Paddypowers 8/1 seems about right, the 12/1 in places is very much tempting me

I can see both Jonbon and Sir Gerhard lining up in the arkle and there's currently not a great deal of depth in the rest of the betting, personally don't rate mighty Potter think other horses badly underperformed when he won at punchestown (though I guess at 5 going on 6 he could improve a good bit for a summer on his back)

One il be mulling over in the coming weeks, no real rush until October/november time with Willie's horses

One of those i've filed under being happy to wait til their first run and miss the price if I have to. One run since the Supreme (As impressive as he was, a terrible Supreme) and a 9yo at the next fest, i'm in no rush. 12/1 makes almost zero appeal.

Anyone heard anything re: Gerri Colombe? Assume if all is well he'll be going novice chasing over 3m this year. Looked a big, rangey type but showed he has plenty of class the last day at Thurles.

The 33/1 for him in the BANC is one of the best ante post prices available in my opinion. I was beating the drum for him last season and will beat even harder now he’s going chasing.

He’s been extremely fragile, and hasn’t stood more than two races a season, so far.

I hope he is able to take a full seasons novice chasing, so we can see how he stacks up against those Grade 1 Novice Hurdlers, moving into a novice chases, that he missed out taking on last spring.

To be fair, his bumper season was low key and he only raced twice as that was never going to be his forte. I don’t recall (could be wrong) him having any setbacks so I’m not sure we can say he’s fragile based on his bumper season.

Its something Gordon Elliott said last season in a quote.

I'm not sure where I read it, I think it could've been when he was withdrawn from running at the Cheltenham Festival earlier this year.

I'd backed him for the Bartlett at big odds on BFX, and was lucky that he'd gone shorter and the liquidity was there to lay off completely.

I'd assume all is well and he gas a blear tun this season.

I tend to be a bit cautious about horses coming back off a layoff - but no reason for others to be.

He will be treated as a Graded staying chaser by Gordon, I'm sure, and could well be a very good one.

Like I said above, hopefully we get to see him take on over fences, those staying novice hurdles that took in the spring Grade 1 races.
I hope he has a full season and we get to see how he goes.

Worth keeping an eye on the 'lets talk racing' youtube channel. I'm not much of a fan of nepotism (that ship sailed in this sport probably the day it was invented I suppose!) but he does seem to get good, reliable info, definitely one of the best twitter accounts to follow in our 'World'.

Joey Logan bought two notable two year old stores at Arqana autumn sale in 2021 for Caldwell. They’ll both be eligible for juveniles and you’d assume Gordon will get them. I heard from someone that they may be renamed due to not racing yet so I’ll have to track down the new names at some point. Jamestown was the most interesting one on pedigree but Vanguard has a nice page too. Both are by Doctor Dino who tends to get early racing types that are equipped for juvenile hurdles. Jamestown is a half brother to Delta Work out of a prolific mare. Vanguard is a half brother to Labaik.
