Adam knows his stuff on the French racing and has done an article on Zarak the Brave - may be of interest for those who have backed or looking to back him.

The only thing I could find is that she is in pre-training at Aidan Fitzgerald's Cobajay Stables. I couldn't find out if she had been named yet but I'm fairly sure Facile Vega wasn't named at this point last year so we may have to wait until closer to her debut to find out.

        Thanks. A very interesting read.

        • Not sure if this is the best thread for this, but an update on Shishkin:

          • ‘Touch & go’ presumably means straight to Kempton on Boxing Day then?

            • Touch and go for a meet at the start of December?! One to avoid for now for me unfortunately.

              • Hello everyone, just trying to find out what novice hurdlers robcour have for the upcoming season.

An tobar, hiddenvalley lake and absolutel notions are the only 3 I know off at the moment, I guess the latter could stay in bumpers as he's only 4 going on 5.

Was wondering if anyone knew of what others they have? I'm struggling to remember them having many bumper runners last year that will be novice hurdling this season

I have a couple in my notes:

Irish Point - 4 Y-O gelding. A winner of a grade 1 AQPS flat race in France. Sold privately to BA. (I can't remember where I read this but probably on one of the French racing sites).

Foxy Girl - 4 Y-O filly bought last year and sent to Henry. He announced shortly after she arrived at his yard that he would give her plenty of time to settle in and mature before making her UK debut. I'm guessing she will go novice hurdling but the race planning experts amongst us may suggest otherwise.

From memory Madmoose posted some useful information regarding Robcour on here last year and hopefully he will be kind enough to share any nuggets of info this year too.

One place for those who are crazy enough to already be looking ahead, to discuss early fancies.... before the 2023 diaries kick off. No after timing prices you've already taken in here if they're not available anymore. If you are desperate to after time a price, make a diary in the members section and do it there

I think it was when the racing manager leaked some info especially with JWM being more of a stayer and since that news was spread the trainer and owner were determined to stick to middle distances which was a little annoying at the time with the Bartlett antepost dockets for many of us!

                      • Not Robcour, but I'd thought it would be good to post all of the unraced French Breds that Willie has bought over the last few months so we can keep our eyes out for them

Spanish Harlem - 360k - Arqana summer sale - 4 yo winner of a single hurdle race in June 2022 so should still be a novice - RPR of 111

Absurde - 260k Arqana summer sale - Flat recruit, 4 yo gelding who ran 7th in graded company in France prior to being sold

Daddy Long Legs - 210k - Arqana summer sale - 3 yo colt with a single run on the flat

Quais De Paris - 180k - Arqana 2021 Autumn Sale - 4 yo gelding with a single run over hurdles, finishing 3rd - RPR 118

Bialystok - 160k - Arqana 2021 Arc Sale - in a fact an irish bred raced in France on the flat

Parmenion - 230k - Arqana 2021 Summer Sale - Fancied by a few on here as Willie's triumph horse last year but that turned out to be Vauban

                        • Has anyone managed to get a handle on the Elliott juvenile purchases this summer? I usually manage to track this down through a couple of sources and I'm really struggling to do so this year. If possible I'd like to know what he's got before the Mark Howard and Paul Ferguson books are printed.

New Year Honours - From the flat formerly with Ralph Beckett - Similar profile to Zanahiyr, and by the same sire, Nathaniel.

I'm pretty sure there was another I noted too, but struggling to find it

Haven't seen much in the way of French brought juveniles for him yet, but I've not done a whole heap of research on that.

Do you know which bloodstock agent Elliott uses for his french recruits? I can probably find out if you do

I think he used to use Nicky Bertan de Balanda - but I am not up to date with if this remains the case.
