If you're on about Deman then Elliott has already said he will be going hurdling later this year Lobos.

      • I'm looking towards Better Days Ahead as Gordon's potential bumper horse. I've backed at 12s TWAR as he's only 16s-18s for the bumper anyway.

Better Days Ahead won his P2P race in February and theres little bits of form coming from it - the fourth placed horse managed to finish second last time out whilst Adielevieux Enki was pulled up in the Better Days Ahead race and next time out won by 4 1/2 lengths.

        • Another point to point I think will throw plenty of winners up:

Whilst some of the horses haven't set the world alight since, Ukantango has managed to win, Issuing Authority managed to finish second before finally winning last time out - he's now with Nicky Henderson.

The winner, Nick Rockett is with Mullins now and IF Barry the Butcher goes with Henry I could see him being a potential bumper runner. Interestingly, Arctic Bresil looked to be coming with a good run before falling - he's now training with Henry de Bromhead and a possible Ballymore/Bartlett horse.

Ahhh, ok. Must have missed that. Can I find the statement anywhere?

He told me when I met him at Fairyhouse, Lobos. No official statement I don’t believe.

How are you finding out what horse has gone where? would be handy to know.

I'd say there's a great chance BDA will be his bumper horse. Just need to wait for Down Royal to see if he's the chosen one.

Adielevieux Enki is related to Big Bucks and is on my list to see how he comes on next season. He looked pretty good last time.

The 4 year old I really like is Act of Authority. Purchased for ?200k and I think he's going to Henry. I hope they go straight over hurdles with him next season. His P2P win was impressive. The 2nd is with David Pipe so hasn't ran since. 3rd won a good P2P after, which has also had a winner out of it.

In my job I work alone on nights with a lot of my time on my hands

In all seriousness, I do look into the P2P a lot, social media can be a very useful tool if you can look past the full time mummies and football supporters etc - there's plenty of decent, in the know and generally knowledgeable types who get overlooked compared to some who seem to gather more of a following because they walk around filming themselves on their phone.

I am utilising TWAR more than ever this year when it comes to the P2P horses (and especially Willie Mullins when the price is acceptable) but I do think Better Days Ahead could very well have a season in bumpers. From what I have seen and researched I think he's going to be a good one and I'm happy to take a slightly lesser price in case he does go straight over hurdles.

With regards to Act of Authority, I couldnt find too much about where he will be heading although Michael Looby had responded to a tweet saying he will be trained in the UK.

                      Steady on

I remember all too well people were queuing up to decide which Cheveley Park horse would be their bumper horse and none of them were, ultimately. I'm just trying to highlight some potentially good horses to keep an eye out for this season although I do think Better Days Ahead is a good shout for the bumper. I absolutely do not want to try second guessing any of them (hence twar) but I am hopeful that a fair few of them will go onto good things once jumping.

I don't even try to pick the bumper winner in March. More interested in what horses have looked good in their P2Ps and following them through their bumper and hurdle campaigns.

Just looked at the tweet. I've got a note that he was going to Henry but not sure where that is from. If he's being trained in the UK, I'll have to hope for Nicky then.

That's better than any official statement. Cheers
