I won’t back today either as there is no form to go on for most of them. I’ve marked her down for the Mares Novice Hurdle as she has a jumping pedigree and hopefully Joshua Tree might make a mark this season with his progeny over jumps.

      • Night and Day running today in Fairyhouse. A good performance against love envoi, Brandy love, etc will put her in at the head of the market for the mares novice hurdle next year?(as long as she doesn't win today)

        • Did anyone hear any post race comments regarding Brandy Love and hurdling/chasing next year??

Il be backing her wherever she runs, that she's done that going right handed suggests there is a serious engine under the bonnet

Willie said he will speak to the owners but may be retired now she's got the grade 1 win and start breeding from her.

Thanks for sharing, important update to have.
Six lifetime runs and retired, seems like a kick in the teeth for the recent investment in the mares programme…

Does Grech breed his own horses?

From how Willie said it, he was just putting it out there and he doesn't know what the owner will do. As you say, disappointing if she is retired as the mares programme is much improved but at least we know it's an option before betting on her.

Needs to improve quite a bit for me to reach the level Allaho and A Plus Tard reached at Cheltenham. Today wasn't any better than his first 2 wins IMO.

really? hes just beaten master mcshee by 18L on the bridle compared to his 9L win last time, he's a superstar novice coming through.

He is a superstar novice but he needs to take the next step up to reach the level those two have shown.

A Plus Tard beat the best 3m horses by 15 lengths plus and is proven over the Gold Cup trip. Much better form than beating Master McShee yet GDC is joint fav or fav with most bookies.

                            • Good to finally hear Ruby state the Gold Cup is GDC's aim. APT won't have the same slowly run race next year with the likes of Ahoy Senor and GDC bowling along upfront. Will be a proper test and like the previous year APT might have to settle for a place as I don't think he could live with that coming round the turn.

                              • I could honestly see GDC coming over to the king george! He`ll skip Leopardstown and the likes of APT Galvin etc and take on our average bunch. Then the festival target will be clearer, Although if he gets beat at Kempton is he at championship grade 1 level? Exciting times never the less
