…..anybody any thoughts or insight into plans for Paul Nolan’s Daily Present next season?
He has a few entries at Punchestown including in a hot looking Irish Mirror Hurdle (not sure why he’s 20-1 whilst the horse he beat fair and square last time, Bronn is 7-1). No idea if it’s hurdles or chasing for him next year, all I find is Nolan saying he’s a proper stayer.
Bravemansgame was sent off the 11-8 favourite for the Mildmay Novices’ Chase at Aintree but finished last of four, beaten 30 lengths by Ahoy Senor.
Ulcers in horses are graded on a scale of zero to four, where zero shows no presence of ulcers and four indicates extensive lesions.
“Interestingly, we did all sorts of test and we’ve found out he had grade four ulcers,” said Nicholls, on a call organised by Great British Racing to celebrate his 13th trainers’ championship.
“We test all our horses in September and January, just to get a mark on them, and he was clear of them in September and January, but for whatever reason he ended up with them after Cheltenham and Aintree which isn’t ideal.
And now 20s… Those quotes have ended the 33s, shame only a few bookies seem to have the bumper priced up and some of the big players don’t have Barry The Butcher priced up.
I didn't have much of a look but Hills were only 7s for any race so just went for the Bally.
An Tobar and Barry The Butcher both TWAR is 100-1 with Sky - was 125-1. But still decent value at this stage - entirely possible they could both end up in the Ballymore but maybe worth a nibble .
