We're delighted to get her' - ?370,000 sale-topper heading to Henry de Bromhead

The daughter of Pour Moi had won her sole point-to-point start at Ballycahane, storming clear by an impressive 12 lengths, and she had the page to go with her talents. The four-year-old is out of the winning Daboya, a Hernando half-sister to 2016 Gold Cup winner Don Cossack, while under the third dam are the likes of German Group winners Denaro and Davidoff.
De Bromhead said: "She's a gorgeous filly and came highly recommended by Pat Doyle. She's for an owner with horses in the yard and we were delighted to get her."
Doyle added: "I've sold Henry nice horses in the past and I love seeing them go on. I have never sold a mare for as much as that! She has a great pedigree, and she has done things so well."
40/1 is 40/1 but the record of the sires sprogs over obstacles doesn't make for particularly exciting reading.

For what it's worth, I'm impressed you could even get to the point of the quote above - I literally can't and have very little desire (at this point) to try and work it all out. I just know it's heavily up in the air this year, which we agree on. Good luck if you go for the dutch though
Yeah I was literally thinking out loud! Nightmare. But I do think Dysart and AI are likely the best over the shorter trips and will be kept apart.

Maybe Jonbon is the 'safe' choice? Surely IAM to the Turners?

        • On Letsbeclearaboutit, he's been injured all season as hes a 7 year old will they completely skip hurdles with him next season and go straight chasing?

          • Mares Novice could also have Deeply Superficial (bought for ?385,000 by Elliott) who beat Mullenbeg in a PTP and Mullins has Call Her Now (bought for ?240,000) who is related to Denman, plus whatever French breds Mullins will pick up. Ruby seemed to like Night and Day who hasn't ran over hurdles yet.

Far too early to think of that race as a betting proposition for me

Night and Day entered in the mares grade 1 at Fairyhouse on April 17.

That'll be the classic 'if she loses her novice tag great because she's a grade 1 winner, if not - no problem, we go again next year' situation

                • ….apologies if mentioned, but I notice Hills any race market is up and running. Not much in there & no multiples allowed but I think this is much earlier than last year.

I’m not a big fan of mares with a PTP background for the Mares Novice Race. The only horse I currently have shortlisted for this is Got Glory. She has some nice form from France, has been with Willie all season and looks like they’re skipping juvenile hurdling and taking a year. If all is well with her she’s one I’m massively interested in.

I see he's entered in the Irish National.
                        And still a novice.

This was only a stop gap year for me, chasing was always gonna be his game & he may be overlooked in the markets based on this years form!

I've been trying to find out who got call her now for a while good to know it's Mullins, probably end up being a crap price though as I got her priced up at 25/1 last year

have you managed to get these prices up anywhere, would be curious to see the odds.

I'd imagine it will be some French horse for Mullins that will be the talking horse over the summer/autumn. I don't expect the horses I mention from P2Ps to be quite good enough over 2m for the Mares Novice but they could be interesting over further and over fences.
