  • FJ Day Three (Thursday) Yankee - Captain: ThomasJHogg

The captain of the Day Three Fat Jockey Yankee is: ThomasJHogg

You are in complete control of the yankee. Your decision is final. If you want to do win only, each way, get people to vote, pick it all youself, pick ones with nice colours - it's all fine. (As long as they're all running on the Thursday )

    YOU decide. We follow.

Final selection to be put up on Monday 14th March, by 12:00 please.

Disappointed that Dan Skelton appears to be skipping the MNH with Elle Est Belle but as things stand her highly rated stablemate Nurse Susan rates an each way selection @16s/20s. She is a very fluent hurdler and is perhaps overpriced after finishing 2nd to another talent in Love Envoi on deep ground.

Eldorado Allen @14s ew when you look at what is likely to actually run in the Ryanair. Pretty sure it has been confirmed he will go here now instead of GC. Unless I was hearing things on a preview yesterday.

Like Eldorado Allen @7s (1/5 123) without Allaho.

To be fair to Skelton he never committed to the race and said months ago that Cheltenham isn't a certainty in her schedule.
I've managed to get most novice races wrong this year but deliberately swerved EEB purely because of that....

An honour! Yes, so if anyone has some firm thoughts put them in here I’ll be reading all of them, and can try best to come up with a winning Yankee

Mullins to dominate like he did that year Yorkhill won and was his first winner on the week.

              Galopin des Certainty.
              Allaho.
              Klassical Dream.
              Dinoblue or Brady Love.

              Nailed it.

I think Tullybeg @ 14/1 in the Pertemps is a superb leg. Gordon has had nine runners between 2017 and 2020. Three won and the other six finished at least 5th. The last six Pertemps winners were Irish trained and nine from the last eleven were rated at least 138, so it feels like we are looking in the right place. Tullybeg beat Bardenstown Lad on debut who is very well fancied for the AB and followed up beating Hewick giving away weight, and he's followed up since. They are 140 horses and he beat them with something up his sleeve IMO. He then went to Cheltenham for what can be best described as an 'experience mark minding run'. Travelled strongly but never really tested or asked any major questions. He's been tucked away since and looks laid out for this. He carried 11-9 at Cheltenham that day and with a stone less on his back plus a proper effort, I think he'll go close or win. He's by Sholokhov who's produced the likes of Don Cossack, Shishkin and Bob Olinger and I really like it when Gordon sends a horse to Cheltenham and then tucks them away. He does that really successfully and it feels a bit like what he did with Galvin last year. He'll be desperate IMO to return the faith shown in him by Bective Stud with a winner and I think Tullybeg is a great chance.

Having reportedly missed some prep coupled with being inexperienced, I'd say Dino Blue is one to avoid completely, and we can surely find a better handicap shot than a 4/1 fav in a 20+ runner handicap.

                          Thursday EW Yankee

Glancing Queen in the PPP at 9-1.
Impervious in the Mares Novice 8-1
Sassy Yet Classy (If she goes) Pertemps 16-1
                          Glenloe Kim Muir 16-1

Picked the above looking for a bit of value and id be very suprised to see them out of the places, with the exception of Glenloe who could be anything.

Paddy Power Plate – Palmers Hill 20/1 – this isn’t the strongest of races and this just seems to be a JP McManus horse who had been campaigned for a Cheltenham handicap. J P normally wins at last one handicap at Cheltenham and this on paper looks to be the race most likely imo.
