Soft ground is ok but I wouldn't want to see it too deep for him. I have a madcap theory that the better the ground, the better he jumps. If he can string a decent round of jumping together, he'll be bang in there, imo.

Its not madcap at all willie mentioned the softer the better for stattler and the opposite for ontheropes.
