….Tom Segal & Paul Kealy both put up West Cork Wildway for the Plate. 25-1 is getting a haircut, but one to keep an eye on.

          Embittered - GA
          Adamantly chosen - MP

would be the two I'd put forward.

I like the Adamantly chosen choice, if he is confirmed to be going whatever race it is if it is a handicap, I think he's in with a big chance. RPR of 140 last time out for his first win is pretty decent and will come on from it

Come on Teddy whatever race he gets in. Festival form, looks really well handicapped, Trainer has a very good record with the few horses he has sent to the Festival, form can be marked up as he was suffering from an abscess last time, step up in distance is sure to suit. Trainer is in superb form...last 11 runners has yielded 5 wins and 4 placed.

The Ultima is the preferred option but he may not get in so the Kim Muir is the back up.

              Tom George......

"He is entered in both the Ultima Handicap Chase and the Fulke Walwyn Kim Muir Amateur Jockeys’ Handicap Chase,” George was quoted as saying, as per Racing TV.
“However, I don’t know if he will get into the Ultima. We will have to wait and see.

“The plan is to run at Cheltenham, regardless. We are very happy with him and he is in good form.”

Even though he won by half the track down at Thurles I thought he was very green. I’ll have a word with connections, and they might choose to stay at home and look at Fairyhouse and Punchestown and there’s a nice race before that back at Thurles. It’s not a given he’ll go to Cheltenham.

COBBLERS DREAM is one I like for the Coral Cup at 20s (Hills) NRNB.

Winner of the Lanzarote, travelled strongly throughout & was always up with the pace. Kept on well & fought off all challengers for an impressive 5l win. Granted, he was getting weight there off 10-10 but he was one I took out of the race thinking he’d be tailor made for one of the big handicaps at HQ. 2m5 seems his optimum trip on runnings so far too.

Officially rated 136 so should get in off a nice weight, never been out of the first 3 in 5 starts under rules, 6yo & open to further improvement.

Negatives being not run at HQ & trainer not based in Ireland.

Same case as Day 3 thread. Tullybeg @ 14/1 in the Pertemps is a superb leg. Gordon has had nine runners between 2017 and 2020. Three won and the other six finished at least 5th. The last six Pertemps winners were Irish trained and nine from the last eleven were rated at least 138, so it feels like we are looking in the right place. Tullybeg beat Bardenstown Lad on debut who is very well fancied for the AB and followed up beating Hewick giving away weight, and he's followed up since. They are 140 horses and he beat them with something up his sleeve IMO. He then went to Cheltenham for what can be best described as an 'experience mark minding run'. Travelled strongly but never really tested or asked any major questions. He's been tucked away since and looks laid out for this. He carried 11-9 at Cheltenham that day and with a stone less on his back plus a proper effort, I think he'll go close or win. He's by Sholokhov who's produced the likes of Don Cossack, Shishkin and Bob Olinger and I really like it when Gordon sends a horse to Cheltenham and then tucks them away. He does that really successfully and it feels a bit like what he did with Galvin last year. He'll be desperate IMO to return the faith shown in him by Bective Stud with a winner and I think Tullybeg is a great chance.

                          Just for my two cents...

Think it probably makes sense to target your races before you pluck out your selections, some handicaps are notoriously difficult to pick up. On that basis, Id write off a few straight away as the Boodles is always a minefield and being led by a short priced favourite, the Coral Cup looks pretty hot, the Plate is 'meh', so I'd be choosing something from the Ultima, Grand Annual, Pertemps, Kim Muir, County and Martin Pipe, as they are the more winnable and predictable handicaps in my opinion. They all mostly have strong trends that are definitely worth following.

My personal selections on the trends would be:

Ultima - Cloudy Glen / Full Back
                          Grand Annual - Embittered
Pertemps - Dallas Des Pictons (The couple from the Leopardstown qualifier have already been well found in the market)
Kim Muir - I've got no strong fancy aside from the obvious Elliott pair who are short enough now for me
County - I have no strong fancy but I do like Eclair De Beaufeu, although I suspect he's just a lively each way play at a big price
Martin Pipe - Need to see some final decs as there are way too many in here, Deploy The Getaway and Chemical Energy would be my two at this stage

Ultima - Full Back / Corach Rambler
                            Coral Cup - Saint Felicien
Grand Annual - Dancing On My Own
                            Pertemps - Dallas Des Pictons

….probably confuse more than help, but I like these from my portfolio:

Drop the Anchor/No Ordinary Joe (CC)
                              Embittered/Gumball (GA)
                              Tullybeg/Remastered (Pert)
                              West Cork Wildway (Plate)
                              Smoking Gun/Diol Ker (KM)
                              West Cork/Shallwehaveonemore (County)
                              Might I/Chemical Energy (MP)

May the force be with you Zachx02, go with your instinct.
