  • Fat Jockey 'Overall' Yankee - Captain: Eudipe

    Eudipe

You have the honour of overall yankee captain (What this means, is you can essentially pick a horse from any of the four days. It doesn't need to be one per day either.)

The point of these yankee's, is for us all to back them for (min stakes is fine) so we have a collective yankee to support during the week! With it being collective yankee, as much engagement as possible is encouraged.

Win only, each way, handicaps, shorties, no-hopers, popular horses, personal fancies, tips from the other yankees, cases made elsewhere, random guesses... all up to you .....Your decision will be final.

Final selection to be put up on Monday 14th March, by 12:00 please.

Looks a cracking prospect, would prefer his chances in the Bartlett but connections seem to be angling towards the Ballymore.

Don't be swayed by Kevloaf he has an unnatural obsession with this horse

Not a race that light's my fire, was hoping Prengarde would mount a serious challenge but that looks unlikely on the back of his latest effort. I'd say Tiger is rock solid unless the ground goes soft.

                  Can't dispute that.

Although I don't think me liking a horse is a good enough reason to avoid it.
Would be for some I'm sure

I'm going to suggest Blue Lord (Arkle). Every tipster I've heard/read seems to have latched on to the (likely correct) notion that Riviere D'etel would have won the Irish Arkle but for her mistake at the last. On this basis it is apparently certain that she reverses the form. To my mind had she not erred (and likely won narrowly) more would now be tipping Blue Lord to reverse the form on better terms. Riviere D'etel was primed against Ferny Hollow while Blue Lord was still novicey on what was his first proper race over fences and I would expect significant improvement in him for the experience. Blue Lord has been weak in the market and may drift further. I would suggest that he is/will be backable to oppose leading British hope Edwardstone (who I respect) with what I think is the best Irish form going into the race.

….in his November stable tour, Elliott not only said the Mares Hurdle was the target for Queens Brook, he added ‘I wouldn’t be surprised if she won’. She was 25-1 at that stage. CB form at the course, everything seems to be falling into place and plenty of positive reports from Preview Nights.

Her price has had a haircut in the last week but still 13/2 available. Queens Brook is my nomination.

Hate this race Eggs. I've been up & and down it so many times and struggled to find an angle. I don't rate the Mares' novice hurdle form from last year and was keen to oppose it (tears for Shewearsitwell!). I think it's going to be a poor quality renewal and the fact that Stormy Ireland is officially rated 8lbs higher than Telmesometinggirl says it all. Concertista would be the obvious choice for me (in the unlikely event that she runs here) but of the rest I agree with the choice of Queens Brook given the ability she has shown (particularly in bumpers) and I don't think she has been anywhere near fully wound up by Elliott yet this season. Reckon soft ground would suit her well.

Saw a shrewdie put him up for this (on a lesser forum) before he won at Wetherby last time That Horse.

There's a manageable number of horses in this race that allowed me to use my wetherbys guide and saw he comes out good on the trends so does Billaway but 3/1 isn't an interesting price at this stage so I better go and back DQ in a single as well now
