Good point and I think we can cross that bridge if it happens. I would say there’s possibly 4 races where we will all pick the same horses. Honey Suckle, Galopin Des Champs (if he goes BANKs) Bob Olinger (if he’s not facing GDS) and Allaho. Maybe Shiskin!

But, then if one person has done something different is it fair on them! If we all go out the same time, I would say we carry on and maybe for at least on day 1 (and I won’t say t out loud) a certain horse doesn’t place we might have to forget that race ever existed! I would like to see at least 20% of people get through to day 3 to keep it fun and interesting and if anyone is on a real lucky roll or just very good at selecting horses, we might all want to start following their selections to the end.

If people think we should add at least 1 extra life let me know, cause I think we all want to at least get through to day two.

Given you're the game master, if we all die in the Champion Hurdle, doesn't that mean you win Maxfield ?

Could always start fresh each day and see who goes through the entire card the most days? And get rid of the skip rule because surely everyone will use that in the bloody Boodles

In the basis the horse selected is to place (like the placepot) then I don’t think everyone is gonna pick the same horse. Personally I’d probably have a go at say AI vs Honey in the CH knowing if anything happened to the mare I’d be live with only a few tickets left if you know what I mean? Just a suggestion but maybe if one race wipes out all players you could then call that a ‘bye’ or ‘void’ if you wanted to keep the game alive? Unless anyone has chosen it as their skip race. Good game idea this, like it

Right all, after viewing all your comments and to make sure that people can stay in the competition as long as possible, I have added an extra rule. Like in the series we all thought the old man was dead, but he was alive at the end. So you can have one extra life if your horse fails to place., but can only use this once, not 1 extra life per day.

Also in the handicaps, Bumper, Hunters Chase and Cross Country I have changed the rule that you can have 2 picks in those races.


I had a look at my main selections and how I would have played this last year and I actually would have made it all the way so it is doable and that was without having to have two selections in the handicaps.
