Hi All
There was a Cheltenham preview between races at Navan racecourse today. It was actually very good but very hard to hear because a lot of annoying loud clowns who were busy roaring their heads off instead of listening. Why do people like that go racing? Why didn't they head down the other end of the bar? I'd say there were maybe 10 or 15 people trying to listen the rest were just getting plastered in a loud and annoying fashion
That being said it was an excellent line up - David Jennings and Barry Geraghty were the main men , Gordon Elliot, Paul Townend contributed - I think Gavin Cromwell contributed too but I missed his part (I had left to back a horse - which lost by the way)
I tried to take some notes but admit it was hard to hear. Credit to Barry and David - tough crowd . Credit also to Navan racecourse for putting this on but maybe next time put it in a separate bar - maybe the marquee outside .
Here are some quick points
Barry G was very keen on Constitution Hill in the Supreme. He also like Minella Indo in the GC and was strongly opposed to Facile Vega in the bumper (he preferred American Mike)
He also mentioned Saint Sam e/w in the Arkle and liked Appreciate it in the CH. Dino Blue fancied in Mares Novice H
Gordon was very bullish re Tiger Roll - good ground he wins was his comment. He also spoke very strongly re American Mike, making the point that while he doesn't usually place much value on times American Mike was 5 seconds faster round Navan than Facile Vega was round Leopardstown. He also liked Galvin in the Gold cup. Re Conflated and the Ryanair v Gold Cup debate - he says that he is still arguing with MOLeary re same but the argument is going 70-30 in Gordon's favour
As I recall he talked up Frontal assault in the Kim Muir and made it pretty clear that Ginto was going in the Ballymore
That's a few of my notes - hope they are accurate!

Did Paul give any tidbits?

Paul didn't have any big reveals - but I may have missed some gems due to some roaring Nordies in the background - he did make some broadly positive comments re Dysart Dynamo but honestly can't remember much of same.
David Jennings was keen on The tide turns on the boodles as I recall, Barry Geraghty spoke positively on Stormy Ireland in the Mares (although Jamie Codd convinced me on Queens Brook on the ATR preview the other night)
