  • February Forum Yankee

Well what can I say.. just one more to go and then we’d have completed four full years of these. It’s been a good year for them in my opinion with a couple once again looking particularly tasty.

If everyone’s happy, I’m more than happy to run them again next season. But we can talk about that after the Fez.

    .................................

For this final Yankee of the season, as is almost tradition now, let’s go with the four best forum bets are for February - even if any or all of those are odds on favs. But as a group we can debate and decide who the four will be.

    Let’s get cracking..

….terrific work MoM, delighted you are signing up for another year.

Great work this year MoM. Really enjoyed them.

To start things off, Surely RWF and Galvin are nailed on?

Others in the pot: American Mike, Fil Dor, Journey With Me (Where??), Hollow Games, Galahad Quest (again??), Dysart Dynamo ...

Assuming he is still en route, if we are choosing a banker, the obvious choice at the moment would be Allaho at evens.

I can't disagree with those who say chases carry more risk than hurdles, but the price also accounts for that at evens vs 4/6 honey for example. With 'doubts' about the directions GDC and Bob go in, Allaho seems the most obvious banker selection.

Feck the forum.... Ginto wins all.
          Kevloaf stands alone.

          Or more realistically....

          Exar Essay 's list.

….can’t remember what we went for last Feb, but I presume the handicap entries and weights will be out. Perhaps a few darts in that direction.

I was waiting for someone to mention Fred. I couldn’t possibly give away such a spoiler but quite obviously, a forum favourites Yankee is almost nailed on to have him in haha. Galvin will surely be popular too.

I quite enjoy this last Yankee as it’s almost always the most universally agreed of the whole year. It’s the four that pretty much everyone has backed at some stage in the year and if even just three of them won, we know most on here will have had a big week.

Thanks eggs. I don’t really do much. It’s probably less than 90 minutes a month really just reading through the recent threads. If I can narrow it down to say 6 horses by the last day from the actual Yankee threads, I then go to the individual race threads and read the most recent ten pages of each and go with the four from there. It’s a tried and tested method by now to getting the four that are most popular with everyone - even if the four aren’t horses I’d backed personally.

I dream of the day we get all four. We will. And a mass FatJockey celebration would be great with us all on the same bets.

                  I’ll put up Langer Dan.
You won’t see him in February so his price shouldn’t change much, likely to still be around the 10/1 mark for the M Pipe…

Link stolen from Eggs but with Mount Ida heading straight to the Mares Chase at 5/1 and price unlikely to change she might be worth adding for Feb…

Surely Hillcrest (AB) has to be in this months one? Third best RPR of a novice hurdler, we know his target and he’s still 6/1…
