Crowdfunder - Fat Jockey Forum upgrade

Hello Fat Jockeys,

Upgrading the Fat Jockey forum!: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/fatjockeyforum

We're looking to upgrade the 'hosting CPU' so I've set up a crowdfunding project.

I would love it if you could donate using the link below to access my project page. Any contribution large or small will be hugely appreciated. Thank you.

It'll likely only be 2f further than he'd have ever gone by the time we got to March 2022 though...

Yeah I get that, but if EA wins the Marsh and Monkfish wins the RSA say both by 4 or 5l which one would you put lower for 2022 Gold Cup

If Envoi Allen wins the Marsh by 4 or 5l I do think he'd be very close to Gold Cup fav. The bookies will factor in the whole pie Jenny.

Monkfish winning the RSA and let's say Al Boum wins his 3rd Gold Cup..... whichever was biggest priced of the 3, people would clammer to get on screaming it was value.

              Monkfish, by quite some distance.

To my untrained eye, EA is a KG type and Monkfish is more a GC type.

              • With there not being any point to points at less than two and a half, I do feel sometimes people can go a bit over board with the trips.

The majority are three mines, and that doesn't prove a horse will be a stayer. It's like if I ran against Usain Bolt over 3m, it's not his optimum, but he'd fucking thrash me on pure ability. It doesn't mean I'll back him to win a London Marathon.

It's such a small data set to use (the P2P field) and whilst it clearly does no harm, I'd argue that literally any NH horse could complete over 3m at some stage, they might not be very good, but the different between 2m and 3m isn't exactly 100m to marathon ...... so I wouldn't get too caught up on it. Do you (or does anyone) genuinely believe Envoi Allen wouldn't have won 'a point' over 3m if he'd been in one? Of course he would, he's Envoi Allen.

If only I were still welcome at 365, the landscape for bets like these would look a bit different! Still, we all work with the tools we have.....

                      • I was quite well invested in Hollow Games for this but I wasn’t overly impressed with the last run. Based on this I cashed out for even money and got sucked into the Ginto scene. Hoping this Isn’t a decision ill live to regret. There is still
value in HG so guess the question is do people still
think it has a chance or was I wise to pull out?

Also Ginto was well hyped do we think this was overhype or can we expect a shock and an Elliot masterclass! Maybe wishful thinking

Hard to know, you'd not expect Ginto's first run to be good enough (the third not far beaten and not got great form), but then again, the race was probably run the opposite of what he'd want. Cheltenham would be different, but he'd have to show more to even make it on the boat.

Tbh I think you’ve made a mistake, but not one that can’t be corrected at current prices.

“This is a very good horse. He's a lovely staying prospect and it was nice to get that done today. He's still a big green horse, he's 16.3 hands and is going to improve again. He's a staying horse for the future. When you're able to do that, win two bumpers, you're more than likely going to end up being a good horse” - Jamie Codd, rider of Hollow Games

Gordon speaks very highly of him too

                            • I thought both performances have been really good, also he done it on heavy ground the first time and he seemed to relish it

I don't think so, personally, and I was a very early backer of Hollow Games, I have this feeling they may leave him off the boat and keep him back for hurdles for next season now. Could easily see him turning into a proper Ballymore/Bartlett prospect.

I think Ginto will be the Morans bumper horse this season, and I wouldn't be giving up on him too quickly either, in a race I don't feel was run to suit. The festival bumper will be run at a pace where it gives him something to aim at when staying on. I don't think the sprint finish suits. Unfortunately or fortunately (if you've backed Sir Gerhard) I don't think he'll beat Sir Gerhard either, as I think he's just a level above.
