Hello Fat Jockeys,

Upgrading the Fat Jockey forum!: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/fatjockeyforum

We're looking to upgrade the 'hosting CPU' so I've set up a crowdfunding project.

Not sure tbh mate. Was just one I'd seen Jamie Codd give a really good mention to. Big money JP purchase after winning a point. Bought the second too which is always a positive.

Magic Tricks, who got beat in a bumper at Punchestown, and is a full brother to Abacadabras

That's the badger. Him going over obstacles was always going to be more exciting than bumpers. Still, unlikely to reach the level his brother did.

Yeah, the buying of the second was what got my interest up (along with the brother) - although that can be overstated.

          • He's on my novice hurdle watchlist. Beat Magic Tricks, the full brother to Abacadabras by an easy six lengths in his point in an exceptional time on the ground. Bought by Elliott for JP.

Possibly more of a Ballymore horse than a Supreme horse, so it'll be interesting to see what distance they start him over. I've been waiting for a final entry before I play antepost.
Luck is a dividend of sweat. The more I sweat, the luckier I get.

Yeah, I'd go Ballymore too Spectre

Gars De Sceaux beat Magic Tricks in his PtP but Magic Tricks only finished 4th in a recent bumper. As Gars De Sceaux is skipping a bumper season I may let him ride and not get involved until next year as my mindset is that they're interested in getting him over fences as soon as possible and this year will not be seen to his best.

That crossed my mind too Jackie. The same approach they took with Andy Dufresne last season. Run him in those nice novices but don't overface him at the Festival.

Andy Dufresne is a bit forgotten as a consequence and very much underestimated. Most dismiss his type as not good enough, but they come into their own when they go chasing.

Cromwell has a nice line of form before they meet in the listed bumper......

The Big Breakaway is another one who skipped bumpers in order to expedite the chasing career.

                            • I’m having a very hectic week trying to scramble back the money I lost on the Masters and Cheltenham last weekend, 14 golf bets and only two shitty roll ups landed, a timely reminder to never bet on golf again.

Anyway.....I’m just scanning through today’s card at Thurles, what are your thoughts on El Barr’s for the Champion Bumper? I can’t say I’ve read much on him or that familiar with his background but he’s a Rich Ricci/Mullins combo.....did he miss last season through injury or he he new on the scene??

I'd say he'll be 7 come the festival, I'd be very surprised if they didn't send him over hurdles after his bumper run today.

He's also ineligible to run, because he is 7. The bumper is for horses aged 4-6.
