Champion Bumper 2021

Just watched the bumper again, and I know they are big hooves to fill, but Sir Gerhard reminded me a fair bit of Faugheen.
I don't know if it was the distance of his victory, his white stripe down his face or the way he quickened, but I'll be surprised if there is one better than him this season.

Really would be unwise IMO to not do so.
Let him see if he can be a champion rather than waste a season in bumpers.
Not a great record for horses going novice hurdling at age 7.
No horse over age 6 has won the ballymore since 1998
And I think only Captain CeeBee has won the supreme in last 20 years aged 7.
Might as well see if he's in the same league as the others, as surely the Champion hurdle is on the wishlist.
He's fav for the bumber, and unless injured, will run in the bumper.
It is not 'wise' to back a horse to do well in a discipline they won't run in.Last edited by Kevloaf; 1 November 2020, 01:34 AM.

Just would surprise me if they want him over hurdles at 7.
We'll see what he says after the listed race.
Gordon appears at this stage to have several potential bumper winners, and as we don't know who they've beat, it's hard to rank them completely accurately.
A lot of the best hurdlers won't run/win their maidens till December or January.
I may be relying on a hole appearing in his top ranked novice hurdlers.
Bit like what happened when he said Envoi wouldn't come to Cheltenham, but then he did cos Malone Road got injured.Last edited by Quevega; 1 November 2020, 10:17 AM.
