  • I find the market very odd full stop.

Amazed that KIlcruit is such a short priced fav. His form hasn't worked out at all. Definitely looks to be some EW value in the race.

even with hype around SG if we see one of the others beat letsbeclear by similar margin how short could they go?
To me he looked overpriced @ 7/1 given SG form but wary about stable form

It's worked out to a degree. Third won a bumper, and even though fortunate, the 2nd from the race Limestone Rock has confirmed himself useful by winning his maiden hurdle.
        But i agree, it's a wide open race + he's short.

I see Noble Yeats was in the Tatts sale tonight, they didn't sell at 290k. Maybe they'll pull him now.
I think i'd have Ramilles closer to in the market, but it's a head scratcher of a race....no surprise being a bumper!

        • Kilcruit was bred by Patrick's Grandmother Maureen so perhaps that's the reason he rides him over Ramillies ?? The horse is named after the place she was from.

I think we all know that isn't the reason he'd ride a horse in a €59,000 grade 2.

He's on the one he thinks is best.

I imagine if asked he'd say it was a tough choice and the other options have chances.

You never know. Very sentimental the Irish. Could be pulling at his heart strings. I personally think Ramillies has the better form and is the better horse but we'll soon find out.

Patrick Mullins isn't so sentimental, that he rides a horse named after a town over a horse he thinks is more likely to win.

You can't believe that, can you?

If my Grandmother bred one of my dad's horses I'd ride it over anything else. 100%.But then I'm not Patrick. I'd like it to be true though. He'd go right up in my estimation.

                  • David Mullins says Kilcruit is a proper horse having been the one that rides him out at home, we will soon see on Sat.

                    • Letsbeclearaboutit is the bet here 100%.

7/1 for 3 places is imo an absolute each way bet to nothing, think Chemical Energy wants better ground and not sure he’s top top class either, Kilcruit visually impressive and the 3rd gave it a compliment but his run last season is nowhere near good enough, top stable though and last years winning connections. Convinced Ramillies wants further and despite hacking up at Christmas, it was probably one of the worst bumpers ever run. Letsbeclearabout it was 4L behind Sir Gerhard off 3lb higher... I actually think this was the best of his 3 runs too..responded well for pressure and hit the line well.

7/1 each way on Cromwells and a reverse forecast with Kilcruit will be the way I play this race.

Patrick was suspect on the Ramillies form, through a few others in the previous race particularly the 2nd
Also expected Kilcruit to stay very well

                        • Patrick did also ride kilcruit on debut when it was trained by Tony Mullins and willie had captain kangaroo that won the race?

At that stage it was due to the Grandmother connection - he spoke about getting the chance to ride a winner for her. Limited opportunities
Willie was never going to begrudge him that

I did note that the Brandy Love offer is for the Goffs Future Stars Bumper / CB double, but she hasn’t been declared for the Future Stars Bumper, think she’s being aimed at the Mares race on Sunday? So be careful with that bet...
