Gave the 2nd 7lb and an 8L beating not coming off the bridle. I'd say that was a big step-up to anyone who watched the race.

As I said, I wasn't having a dig, was just asking why there seemed to be such a clammer to get him backed again despite beating the same horse. I personally don't consider that a big step-up relative to what would be needed for a Champion Bumper, I think he's just confirmed he's loads better than the 2nd again.

Not knocking that, it might end up looking like incredible form. The horse in 3rd won easy the time before, but against nothing of note?

Looks a very good bet though, well done

I think the first three today would see off anything Sir Gerhard beat and you are talking 6/1 as opposed to 20/1 for the Champion Bumper and bigger straight after the race.

Well the clammer to get on Letsbeclearaboutit seems to have run its course. Unfortunately I got suckered in too and backed him after this above. He's run pretty well there in defeat but the winner looks a class above and I can't really see valid reasons he'd reverse the form. The trainer had also said he's unlikely to go to Cheltenham this year so another value loser to add to the pile.

Very tough to pick holes in Sir Gerhard now, not a horse (well, race) I'll get too reliant on for a good week/day etc but I can see why people are considering it! Less likely to fall over for starters

Brooklynn Girl looked good to me and would receive an allowance and he similarly has Brandy Love. Also Kilcruit who is potentially being saved for this rather than going over hurdles. I agree that Sir G has been impressive but I have him on side at 22-1 TWAR and wouldn't currently be going in again at his price now.
Yep I tend to agree, only need to recall how much of a race Blue Sari gave Envoi Allen a couple of years ago. That said buzzing by that SG performance today and fingers crossed he makes it there fit and healthy

Just oin that race, it showed Envoi Allen can battle as well.

It makes him so appealing. Even if a horse is good enough to get him off the bridle, we can be confident he'll battle.

A trait not to be under estimated!

I've just got off a zoom call to Mr Loaf and FatCatShat and can confirm that this post has been officially endorsed by the 'PTKO is going to piss the champion chase' committee. All aboard!

                • Any idea whether CHEMICAL ENERGY is due to have any fancy entries soon? I’d like to see this one step up against some better opposition as well thought his 2 runs to date were both impressive

                  • Well SG well and truly put Letsbe in its place. SG looks a worthy fav at this present time. Just waiting for the little mare, with a nice allowance, to come and spoil the party.

Brooklynn Glory/Take Tea/Brandy Love. Trouble is they are all in the same yard so can do as he pleases.

                      • Was hoping he would send brandy love to the mares novice, at 27/1 id of enjoyed that decision! Ill back her each way at 16s now for the bumper, but sir g could be the best good thing at biggest price!

I'm not saying all or any will go for the fez bumper, merely saying there are 3 potential decent mares we have already seen run in a bumper this year Ray.

                          • Yeh brandy love got to be the most
impressive.. ill be looking at her for the champ bumper now, have hollow games ew at 40/1 i got a couple of comments taking the piss at the time of taking that off the back of a twitter video with elliot saying he liked him but now he looks a good shout! Now ill go for brandy love and with having sir g in a roll up ill be hally with thag position until the day itself!

                            • Brandy love be my pick of the Mullins mares we’ve seen in bumpers so far also. Wonder if he hasn’t carpet bombed the race the last couple of years due to a change in tactic, or just because he didn’t think he had too many good enough horses? With Kilcruit clearly earmarked for the race, you’d be concerned he may only send one more, but hopefully not and all that look to be in with a chance will get to take it
