  • St James’s Palace Hunters Chase

No noises so far regarding this race

Hunter chase season starting next week in UK

There is lots of room for new names to make a mark in this division , There must be better alternatives to Billaway

Just wondering can anyone preempt any horses that can make the switch here and be competitive

    Maybe a JP horse

This race won't be far off at all, as being as easy as billaway, however he's not the 8/1 he was a month ago or so.

Fwiw last yeats winner has been beaten recently. theres no new JP horse, however iv spent hours on hours on this, and there are a few ew prospects, that havent been added in to the market yet.

The market as is, does have nrs with good form, so be tentative

…& subsequently beat Billaway. 14-1 seems fair but would be good to know of the horses well being.

Indeed. He was receiving a few pounds & only won by a nose or so, but a wins a win.

Its the run in this last year that really makes me fancy him, and also let us not forget he’ll have the top amateur in the country on board.

Anyone heard anything about a horse called Good Bye Sam

I see he has been introduced into the betting for this 12/1 PP

He is down to be trained in France by Emmanuel Clayeux

Suspect someone has bought him to be trained over here

Moved to Ireland in 2020, absolutely no idea who too, and under what ownership unfortunately.

I disagree, often a good race and has produced some very good types.
Looking forward to the Hunter Chase evening at Cheltenham at the end of the season, I'm told it's a great atmosphere...

Think you just need to see the interest in this thread to guage how most feel about the race. Horses for courses though.

As Liammet points out in the opening post, the UK season is yet to begin, in July there would have been little to no discussion on the Mares Novice or any of the handicaps, I'm sure there'll be discussion when contenders appear...
