Has anyone heard anything of the Conditionals target? I remember reading comments about the Gold Cup or Grand National. He’s currently 22/1 with Bet 365 for the Ultima. That price doesn’t have the safety net of NRNB but it does have a cash out option if I’m on the ball. That’s a big price for last years winners. It just appears too big for a horse that would probably be participating in this race??
Maybe the jockey chucked away the stick before 2 out and a potential win to protect his mark for this haha

It do look a bit suspect but the ground was very testing too. That’s two good performances by Aye Right so hopefully he’s got one bigger one in him in 6 weeks. His price to win the Ultima is still decent too so I will top up on him soon.

Aye Right might not go to Cheltenham.

He looks like a nice candidate for the Grand Nash.

              • I've looked at the entire race entries for this race, and so far only 1 horse has stood out and its 'Good boy Bobby'. Recent outing at cheltenham his mark was 146 and came a fair 4th running on from the back and also beat Master Tommytucker in that handicap. Horse ran at Ascot and was running on again but from the back and to me it looked like the jockey was protecting its mark or trying hard enough to put the horse in a decent place to finish the race I felt. Horse is now on a mark of 142, I think also the horse prefers going left handed. Plus the trip would be no issue from the horses running style.
horse is about 50/1 on bet365 still.

NTD took the same ascot race in for flying angel in 2019 before finishing 5th in the ultima so there may be some legs in this for good bb

I actually had its mark wrong in the first post, its now on a mark of 142, 50/1 is just way overpriced for thism I have seen its officially not entered in the race but with kildisart out of it which I think the horse is, I reckon most likely they'll enter good boy bobby in this plus it's just the perfect race for it.

Entries should close for all of the Handicaps on Tuesday 23rd February, with them released to the public the following day.

Outside of the Pertemps Hurdle qualifying, there are so few horses that trainers will have confirmed to the public are heading for a specific handicap, just yet, as quite a lot of them will have their next race over the next three weeks, and find out what their handicap marks are - before their entries are decided.

I liked Good Boy Bobby last season.
I need to watch his races back that you have mentioned.
                      Thank you for your thoughts.

Think that's an excellent shout and a horse I've been watching all season. Sure he's got a decent race in him and looks crying out for a step up in trip.

Wouldn't be interested in him over the intermediate trip again myself. He is very stroutly bred and really looks in need of stepping up in trip to me.

His jumping has completely gone to pieces the last twice

Its a worry for sure, but worth the risk at 50/1! He's clearly got a very good engine.
