He has form ties with Duffle Coat.

Not priced up, that I could see either. Will be watching with interest today.
Haven't seen the race but he was my pick for this in DG's antepost tipping comp. Noted him as running in the same races as a few of Skelton's horses that have ran here in previous years. Trainer has a relatively decent record in the race, usually a place at double figure prices.

Yeah, he does. I was on Langer Dan last season at big prices but only 5 places, typically finished 6th by a neck

They've been close in previous seasons, one year I suspect they will have a winner in the race, whether that'll be Cabot Cliffs I don't know. I'll probably have to back him when priced up now though.

Yeah, I'd be happy to go without NRMB concession, as it's this race or nothing (obviously risk an injury or something), so should he get balloted out it would be money back anyway, so I wonder what price we'll get without NRMB.

He was 142 but Adagio has won impressively since so he's likely to have it raised further. Its possible, but unlikely IMO..

              • Yeah looks unlikely then, has anyone ran with such a big weight before?

The first post in this thread gives a good breakdown of ORs that have competed. 144 is the highest I see from 2013. Top weight is 11st 10, so thats consigned for the highest rated horse in the race, no matter if they are 144 or 134 (sorry if I'm being pedantic)

                  • No worries, im gonna keep a bit of faith personally of course i backed duffle coat for this at 22/1 with hills..but it doesnt look likely, however he looks very good and elliot holds a strong hand in the triumph, maybe this one runs off the top here!

That was my logic also for backing him at 20s for this in Dec, he has 2 or 3 decent runners for this also aside from DC, with Riviere D'etel and Glorious Zoff

                      • I liked the glorious zoff angle and other then DC hes the only one ive backed for this now..having a run at dundalk looks like a shrewd bit of training

                        • Both Saint Sam and Bussleton shorted for this into fav and 3rd fav. Glad I've already backed both any race and hope they both come here as they won't get anywhere near the Elliott runners

The marks will be interesting, as he rated Quilixios 141 in the UK. And he's just improved.

I'd be thinking more along the lines of what does Gordon have, given he has 2 darts for the Triumph now.

They sure will be. Hoping for a high 130s really. Band of Outlaws won off 139 and I can see Joseph sending Busselton the same way
