      • Curious Bride first reserve. I was hoping one of the first three wouldn't be entered. Good news on Riviere D though.

Yep. Keith Donoghue rode him when he hacked up at Sligo not no negative really.

Paul Nicholls has won this 3 times with French recruits and a fourth such success could be on the way courtesy of HOUX GRIS, who shaped better than the result when a well-held third pitched into a Grade 1 on his yard debut and has presumably been saved for this since. Homme Public pushed the selection close on his final run in France and heads the many dangers along with Coltor and Busselton.

                      • Flagged up Coltar for this a few days back. I am now gone off him, although would not Weld uses a visor, did the same on the flat and found about a stone of improvement.

Looks to me the flat horses that have won this all were very experienced and his 3 runs are a big no.

Saint Sam now the selection, Mullins record in the race was actually putting me off but worth noting he had but a first time hood on Voix Du Reve in this. VDR fell at the last with Campeador both cruising.

Not my write up but case well made - http://2ptsw.in/tips/1pt-each-way-sa...enham-tuesday/

This race is ridiculously competitive so I wouldn’t be going anywhere near the favourites. SAGE ADVICE is the one I keep coming back to. Rated 79 on the flat, he only made his hurdles debut in January and has had to squeeze three starts over timber in a short space of time to get a handicap mark ahead of Cheltenham, and while the last of those runs was a shocker, he might have bounced on the heavy ground having been turned out again so quickly. The form of his first two runs is working out brilliantly as he was less than two lengths behind Cabot Cliffs (137) at Warwick off level weights and thrashed Olly Murphy’s Tinnahalla (126) on debut at Kempton. Tinnahalla has gone on to give a sound beating to Homme Public whose form is closely matched with Houx Gris, the favourite, while Cabot Cliffs gave a very useful juvenile Heross De Seuil 6lb and a 17l thumping at Warwick. In short, I think Sage Advice could have 10lb up his sleeve off a mark of 127, and better ground should suit. The each-way terms are very favourable in this race with six places offered, and at 20/1 he’s well worth a bet.

Looks like there will be a lot of pace in this tomorrow and him and Elham Valley should be near the rear at good prices.

Sage Advice put up by Ben Linfoot on Sportinglife as well a week or so ago and I imagine he will be put up on his value column later today so price may contract again.

....Matt Brocklebank has been producing the Value Bet column for a while now, not sure if that’ll be the case for the Festival. I read that Paul Kealy had put up Sage Advice & Curious Bride in the Weekender.
