Homme public is now better off at the weights with this horse and yet its 20/1. Plus form of both horses doesn't look that great from horses they've come up against. I've looked at this whole race myself and did not fancy betting on this race until last night when Curious Bride was mentioned. I looked at this horses form and it is working out, recent run clearly did not go to plan on heavy ground and it was 2m 5f. I watched the race when the horse won and I just think this horse has more to offer and if front runs the race again here I think it does have a good chance of actually winning again.
I think it's a combination of French profile, low weight, PN seeming bullish, run LTO in a Grade 1 was good before mistake, and lots of money over a short period of time. Holes can be rightly picked in each one of those things, but collectively, that's why he is favourite. Someone made a superb case for Homme Public a few days ago and I know a few of us waded in. I really like him. If I could only have one bet in the race and the choice was between HG and HP it would be the latter at the prices all day.

But must admit I’ve gone ice cold on him the last couple of weeks for no real reason.

I don't think you're alone MOM. I've a few in it and only yesterday added Houx Gris to win (to give me a bit of confidence), although I have him backed to place @ 3/1 (had to drop this in there ).

I think he's the one horse Nicholls sees as his best chance now. He knows what it takes to win the race, having won it 3 times since its inception.

I guess it's a case of one being with Paul Nicholls and the other being with Oliver Greenall.

Personally I think I'd struggle to tell you one horse Oliver Greenall trains, let alone get ready to win a handicap hurdle at the festival. I could tell you plenty about Paul Nicholls though, and his festival form.

My confidence would be fully with Nicholls and the previews with him and Cobden on have shown serious levels of confidence, enough to take note of at least. Again, the previews are probably another reason the price has contracted. I don't remember seeing a preview with Oliver Greenall on?

This post may look like a dig at Oliver Greenall, but it was meant to be the opposite really, it's more the fact that they are in different parishes when it comes to experience of training, (just had to look on OG's website, he's only been training 6 years), especially horses for the festival, despite what French form lines suggest.

        • Has Coltor been tipped up on any previews? I've watched most of them but haven't heard and peep - he's been bet from 20's into 6/1. Massive support for him.

          • Just spent the best part of 2 hours looking at this. 2 I came up with were houx gris & busselton FFS. Hopefully they drift to a backable price as they’re looking awfully short at the moment the pair of them, didn’t really fancy much else to be honest. Balko saint would have slight appeal but again, short enough at the 16s

Yes. Think it might have been on the hunt podcast. Improved a lot for his last run on the flat when the visor was added to win. He's yet to have it on yet over hurdles.

Seemed to make all.the difference on the flat

If you like Coltor you’d surely want to cover Curious Bride at 28/1 who beat it 10 lengths?

I'm hoping she will fly under the radar and be pushed out on Tuesday morning as she is going under the radar and the pulled up last time should hold the price up.

The pulled up was over 2m5 against the older mares and change of tactics didn't suit. I didn't expect her to get in the race a couple of weeks ago off 123 but it's worked out. If she is near the pace from the start, she won't be stopping up the hill and may be a very good place price mid morning. Zoffanien and Coltor won since from that race and she is on identical terms with Zoffanien for a 6 length beating and 3 pounds worse off with Coltor for a 9 length beating.

Got the BOG with Bet365 but they usually offer some nice prices for this race on the outsiders for top 6 or 7 places each way.

                            Like this CK.

Seen Paul Kealy had tipped her up and looked into her form at the time. As you say been franked and she’s on a low weight and levels with one she’s given a good beating to.

28/1 with 365 who are BOG, every chance of a drift as she’s not with one of the “big 3” trainers and the PU last time out.

Given the last few days with horses dropping out, left right and centre, including many from Ireland, I'm probably (reluctantly) going to cashout on RD for a profit and rely on my other selections for the race.
