    I'd say it's good news.
I noticed his provisional rating has been upped from 126 to 131 also.
So just a case of managing that mark in a race somewhere.

I'd like to think with the tipsters putting him up, they will have asked the Nicholls yard for a heads up on likely plans.
Someome mentioned Nicholls is planning to exploit his mark against older horses implying he wouldn't be in juvenile handicaps... can't think where I'd have heard that, I feel I watched someone say it and it wasn't the main part of what they were talking about.

      Wasn’t it Lydia Hislop?

That would make sense, I did see half of that the morning after it'd been on.

        Good work detective.

        • Looks like the Boodles is the plan for Riviere D'Etel then. No way she's winning a Mares Novice Hurdle after that. Will be interesting to see what mark she now gets, as that was her third run over hurdles.

          • Pushed out to 25/1 with Bet365... that looks a decent price.

Might not get high enough, very tricky to rate that.
              And her other races.

I've had a think and reckon it may be alright, around the 126-130 range.
But good luck to the handicapper.

Possibly not, but balloted out means money back, so that would be something to cling on to if she isn't rated high enough.

Thought she ran an OK race given how keen she was, which was far from ideal.

Yep, she didn't wear any head gear in France and seemed ok.
Was a bit keen the last day with headgear on in shitty weather, and then as keen as ever today with headgear again.
Could easily be one of Elliots method's of gaining improvement
Be interesting what they declare her to wear at Cheltenham, IF she lines up.

Ruby Walsh and Gary O’Brien were talking pre-race about her handicap mark, as Ruby had mentioned she could be a Fred Winter horse, and would have to be Graded quality to win today, as she was a 4yo filly taking on older geldings.

They both looked back at her prior race (I think) to scope out her pre-race rating, and Ruby said he had worked it out as 134 and Gary 133.

Hopefully she gets a rating on Tuesday.

                      They're both guessers like me
The race she won has nothing rateable in it at all.

I don’t know what they were relating it to, but she didn’t run to 133/4 there.

She has achieved more than Veneer of Charm or Tronador did for Gordon in this rate, both on earlier best race RPR (her best is 124 (twice) theirs was 119 and 121), and then her RPR of today’s race (hers is 119 - theirs were 113 and 98).

Tronado and Veneer of Charm were both given 129 for the Boodles by the UK handicapper, so perhaps they would give Riviere D’Etel a little more, maybe 132.

Yep, my guess was the Irish mark, so that would be kind of what I'd expect if she runs in this race.

                          • Before he runs in a couple of minutes, I thought Cabot Cliffs could be interesting for this race. He'll need to go well today, as his mark is likely too low currently.

He has form ties with Duffle Coat.

Not priced up, that I could see either. Will be watching with interest today.
