....very possibly. Only priced up with Hills, 33-1 for Pipe, 33-1 the Coral, the 25-1 a/r seems reasonable.

I had the same feeling with Captain G so it worked last time .

I would actually fancy him even more strongly because of it. This race has seen several horses revert back from fences to run well, and if anyone got him priced up I'd be interested nrnb.
Skybet have priced up Janidil at 14-1 NRNB for the Coral Cup.

Also asked Betfair but no response so far.

I was certainly hoping for something juicier than 14-1 - although come the day that may look decent.

            • As people on here may know, I couldn’t believe how blatant the run of Koshari was the other day in the Rich Ricci colours over at the Dublin Fez. Having had a bit of the 20/1 for any race in the aftermath of that in the belief it’s the most obvious plot of all time, I’ve come to the conclusion that it is this race that he’s surely going to be aimed at now. Little bit of money for him for the race I’ve seen in recent days too. Best priced 16s but 12s NRNB may be best for him with his 1000+ day absence already in his career.

Came back after that 3 year break (they kept him in training so he must have shown something at home) this season to win when Townsend chose the stablemate. He looked very very good that day and perhaps even a graded horse. He then showed the most obvious bit of plotting in the Dublin festival handicap last week when held out the back and deliberately kept out of the race to finish a never off the bridle 7th. It was so obvious. In fact if you haven’t seen it already, I’d suggest watching it back to give yourself a giggle. To my mind, he’d be well suited to a race like this and could be carrying a really nice weight as well.

Definitely didn't go unnoticed MOM, I think one of the Irish tipsters put him up the other day and main reason the price went on him. Someone on FJ did mention him before though (sorry forgot who it was) and went back to watch and if you look at those sort of things it did stare you right in the face!! Watch coming up to the 2nd or last he actually stops trying for a bit, not to get to much into it, then goes again, and I did laugh!

I say it didn't go unnoticed, but maybe it did unless you went looking for it ? do you think either handicapper looks at these sort of things?

He whacked the third hurdle hard, and that put him further back, I think he was nursed after that, and finished nicely.

Is there any reason he couldn't go for the Martin Pipe? He's rated 144 so could sneak in top weight if the UK handicapper is generous. Doesn't seem to be priced up by anyone though.

He's 144 in Ireland. He likely won't be that once the UK Handicapper has his say.

Thanks for the heads up NC. That's too short and one to leave for now. I'd hoped for 20/1 and might have reluctantly been tempted at 16/1. Let's see what the others do when they put him in their markets.

I wouldn't be of the same opinion that it was a deliberate effort at plotting. He had been supported on Sunday and I was also on and I was annoyed at the time seeing him out at the back. However, he was making a move just before 2 out and then you couldn't see turning for home as the cameras were on the leaders. You then saw him being steadied jumping the last before the cameras were off him again until he crossed the line in 6th(off the bridle IMO). I was expecting him to sweep pass the leaders but his run may have just petered out as he had to come from so far back. Townend may just have been too overconfident and Koshari turned out to be not good enough but without seeing him fully on camera in the last 3 furlongs, I personally wouldn't like to make a call that it was a plot job.

                                Agreed,

He set off at the rear, but then whacked the third hurdle, and dropped back further.

He made up good ground later in the race, but the early error cost him a chance of figuring at the business end, this time round, and that’s how the jockey treated the latter part of this race.

He’s a good horse, but it wasn’t a plot to lose a GBP54K race in Ireland, in order to run for less at Cheltenham with no weight advantage.

I like him, and he would have figured further towards the finish if he hadn’t made the early mistake.
