I guess that's why I felt the need to ask if I was missing something!

    • Who would have thought that cashing out Dallas Des Pictons for a 50% profit after coming last in a Pertemps qualifier would be the best bet on a Gordon Elliott trained horse this festival?

      • Added 1pt EW Lynwood Gold @ 16/1 NRNB.
We joke about looking for whatever finishes 6th in the qualifier, and Robbie Power new his job in the qualifier the other day and finished 6th. Tanked around and I'm fairly confident puppy hid some ability there and the mark will be attractive.

Yeah, I quite like him too Charlie, may need to top up on him at some point.

Jessie went really close with Not Many Left 2 years ago but undoubtedly shot herself in the foot by winning the qualifier at Huntington and getting hiked in the weights - connections are definitely not making the same mistake twice with this fella.

Nope, I agree. I think Spectre may have also noted him at some point, but I could be wrong, and it could have been someone else entirely.

Jessie knows what it takes, IMO, and I think he'll be overlooked on the day.

                  • Champagne platinum has a very nice weight

Going to be tough for the bosses oscar and imperial alcazar to give him that I reckon

Of course, it will be tough, but high rated horses have a fair record in the race in recent seasons, so not all is lost.

Also the fact he is likely to have a claimer on board as well to negate some of the weight.

                            • Agreed re Lynwood Gold, I remember reading last year that Jessica Harrington said her horse (silver sheen I think) was certainty to win pertemps before injury, love thought of her trying to put last year right and had nice bet ew once weights done at 16s
