Looking at the Pertemps qualifier at Exeter on Sunday with a view to the final I was most interested in the Nicolls horse Southfield Harvest. Currently rated 135 he would need to go close on Sunday and raised a couple of pounds to be sure to get into the final imo. But looks to have a major chance of doing so on Sunday.
The horse is a top staying chaser in the making but will surely take in some good handicapp hurdles along way imo. Seems to handle any ground and will definably stay the 3 mile trip. Jumps fine and although Nichols as never won the Pertemps final a few have been in the frame. (Maybe due the win)
The horse is closely matched with Champagne Platinum on a line through Jacamar and although I like CP I am not sure he will stay the 3 mile trip at Cheltenham. Lots of improvement on the cards from Southfield H gives me hope of a good run both on Sunday and at Cheltenham.
First of all he must qualify by finishing in the first 6 on Sunday and then we must assume the final is the plan so NRNB at 16/1 with 5 places is the way forward for me. Any comments are most welcome.

It's a good and interesting race on Sunday at Exeter and only living just a few miles from the track I really think if the bit of snow tomorrow does no harm it will be on, minding it's at the top of telegragh hill and open to the elements.

Just see this post by Nichols on his Cheltenham runners in tomorrows R.P.
Southfield Harvest
Pertemps Final
I'm sweet on him for this race. His half-brother Southfield Theatrewas beaten by a head in this so it would be nice to go one better. He's progressive and will love the trip. Harry will take the ride. He is scheduled to run at Exeter on Sunday.

Does anyone like Champagne Platinum for this? At 25/1?
I didn't really like the way he stayed, it wasn't a strong staying performance anyway... but then again, he went off 5/1J - so he's a trading angle at very least?
If he qualifies

If he qualifiesLuck is a dividend of sweat. The more I sweat, the luckier I get.
