Thats two comeback wins from long lay-offs in the last two seasons.

Trained by Warren G, I always wondered what happened to him after his chart hit “Regulate”

“It was a clear black night, a clear white moon,
Warren G. was on the streets, trying to consume
Some skirts for the eve, so I can get some funk
Just rollin' in my ride, chillin' all alone”

Hahaha - take a bow son!

      • Bosses Oscar racing today at navan 13:08 - he is currently rated 137 and is being aimed at the pertemps in march. therefore could he do without winning this, how many pounds would he get if he did? I have also noticed the GE second string shattered love also have a 7 pound claimer riding and well is well ahead of her chase mark going over hurdles today... is this a possible angle against TBE today and a second string winner or am i over thinking it? Saxon Warrior would like to pick your brain in this, not sure how to tag a fellow member yet

              Thanks Q.
              Good questions.
Wish we had Gordon Elliott on here to answer.

My own thoughts are that the connections have said this race is the target for The Bosses Oscar for the first part of the season

              probably because
              * his owners sponsor the race, and
              * he is being trained as a 3M Handicap Hurdler this season, and
              * its Gordon’s local course, and
              * winner get €53,000 which is a big pot for a 3M handicap hurdle, and not much different to the prize in the Pertemps Final.

So I think we will see him trying hard to win today.

If he can win, then he would go up at least 5lb-7lb for a race of this standing, maybe more.

If he came close up in the places, maybe a rise of up to 5lb.

Then I would think he could go to the Leopardstown Pertemps Qualifier at Christmas to attempt a top 6 finish to get into the Final.

I think the weight rise, if he won a race like this, would not put him out of the Pertemps.
If you think that may happen, better to back him today, in case.

Shattered Love has a really low weight, and she could be very competitive if taking the return to hurdles well, she does look thrown in.

Tout Est Permis is also of interest.

              Should be an intriguing race.

                • It looks like THE BOSSES OSCAR was ridden to sneak a win, but the whole field were completely stuffed by the runaway winner.

A good race for TBO, the placed horses can’t really move up the ratings too much, after being beaten a long way by one.

Yeah that's exactly how I saw it.

Absolutely no doubt he stays 3 miles either (which not many people were doubting)...

                    Very happy with that.

Yeah agree Saxon, happy enough with that. They let the winner get away a bit turning the bend and was never going to be reeled in.

Will he go up at all in the weights do you think? I think ideally GE would have wanted to win so when it came to a qualifier he could decide how well to run TBO

The winner makes Streets of Doyen look interesting,
He has won 2 more races since he beat that winner (4 since he stepped up to 3 miles), and although has yet to qualify, I'll be watching for an entry.
Been to Cheltenham already this year and probably mid 130's mark now.

                          Great minds, and all that.....

I just stuck STREETS OF DOYEN in my Racing Post tracker about 15 minutes ago, on the back-form with that runaway winner.
I’m waiting to see if he runs in a Qualifier next, or a Graded race.

When SOD won at Cheltenham the trainer said they were thinking of the Albert Bartlett, and it was time to give him a break

He is only rated 135 so when he has had a break, he would need to start back in a Pertemps Qualifier pretty sharpish.

Davy Russell rode TBO in his first 3 hurdles races last season, then a conditional jockey had to ride him in the Martin Pipe.

Davy is “Mr Pertemps” I would love to see him sitting on TBO in the Pertemps Final in March.

                            • Saxon Warrior Thank you, all in all that seems to be a good result for TBO festival hopes, minus the two point loss on the day

Yes. That would be a huge plus. TBO looks certain to go for the Pertempts on the back of that today imo.
