Still think sending CoF to the Pertemps involves too much faffing about in. season when they're chasing big handicap pots.
Yep, I made the same sort of comments when people were getting carried away with Bosses Oscar.
There are plenty of valuable handicaps outside of cheltenham.
But we know they want to win at Cheltenham too.
A low grade meeting in the main, but with a lively 3M Hurdle with Column Of Fire, Dallas Des Pictons and Burrows Saint entered. Gordon used this race last year for The Storyteller to win, on his way to the Christmas Pertemps Qualifier at Leopardstown (Column of Fire and/or Dallas Des Pictons could be following the same route).
The last race is a 2M3F Maiden Hurdle and WIllie dominates the entries with six including Kilcruit(bought out of Tony Mullins stable) Capodanno, En Beton and Bucks BiIlionairewith placed runs in the past.
This is interesting because it is the race that Saint Roi blew at 1/3F and came 5th.
We ought to note his final dec(s) for it and jockey bookings if he has more than one, and note that although this is 2M3F that Saint Roi has been solidly a 2M performer, so a good winner here from WIllie could go in any direction in trip for novice races.
Sporting Life’s Stuart Williams has (annoyingly) put up The Bosses Oscar this evening. Into 14s with PP/BFSB. One I wanted to wait on but don’t like E/W at less than 16/1 in a handicap so split stakes between a boosted 22/1 with Hills and 16/1 with 365

Bet365 was 20/1 late last night, it wasnt listed on Oddschecker, but I took it in case it was forced in by the momentum built up by that tipster.
Ive had to get Twitter alerts on him now, to know whats going on.

DALLAS DES PICTONS survives in the final decs for the 3M Hurdle at Clonmel on Thursday, chief opponent could be Burrows Saint (WPM).
So he's an interesting follow and had some good picks last year but I have noticed this year he does seem to align with the forum about a week after moves happen here. But it's not like we have a monopoly for studying racing I guess, could just be coincidence
I have started staking horses for this race much earlier this season than in previous seasons (usually don't touch it until the few weeks before or on the day). This is partly down to following the NH season closer than ever before/improved knowledge.
I currently have Tower Bridge, TBO and COF in the book already. For those who are more experienced staking this race antepost - is it stupid to get involved too heavily in this race too far our or does the nature of the qualifying criteria of the race lend itself to staking horses for it earlier than other handicaps?

You've kind of answered that yourself.... it should be easier because of the qualifying criteria, although two of the three you've backed haven't qualified yet...so it could get dangerous
FWIW, the two that aren't qualified yet, are the only two I've backed... so no panic
