Hello Fat Jockeys,

  • Just going back to the Pure Genius, Fantasio D'alene race again today, I feel one thats gone under the radar is De Bromheads Sean Hogan
Looked to me to be running a really nice race when he tipped up 3 out, having ran quite freely.
I think there's a race to be won with this lad, whatever class is open to question.
Anybody who viewed I'd be interested in feedback.

    • Still think Wide Receiver is the one, Fantasio Dalene disappointed yesterday so looking elsewhere.

I'm not gunna lie, haven't a clue about the trainer, don't know what his expectations are, if will aim big or not but Bear Ghylls mark 140 surely a nice mark to come here off? Although as I say don't know if trainer wants the bigger goal in the likes of the AB which many still see wide open or if can compete in the ballynore. Thoughts?

The jockey when interviewed said they'd step him up in grade next time and see....

Horses have run in the Ballymore at the rating he's at currently and done okay.

He's not quoted everywhere, and PP have him 12s NRNB which isn't making me want to side with him just because I'll know I'll fancy at least 5 others between now and then and at 12's he'd take a decent chunk of my money to be worth it.

I don't see him much shorter than that on the day for example.

He is an interesting one. I think there is a chunk of improvement to come if he starts respecting his hurdles more and this may happen in truer run races.

The question i had with Fantasio D'Alene is one i have with Wide Receiver, where are Gordie or Giggys standout novice hurdlers that will entice them to go for a handicap rather than trying their luck in the grade 1s?
Giggy do tend to run their horses in graded races firstly.

Yeah, Wide Receiver was taken out of a Grade 1 because of a stone bruise, I believe he'd have been running on merit that day.

I expect/hope he's entered and runs at DRF.

I will re-back him NRNB at that point for the Ballymore.

                • Have added Power of Pause for this at 25/1 with bet365 and the cashout. A mark of 136 looks ideal. Connections already have Appreciate It so the Supreme would seem very unlikely... which leaves the Ballymore or this. From what we've seen, I'm not sure he's quite up to the Ballymore, but 136 should still underestimate his ability. The intermediate trip should suit him well.

Oh I do like that, could be a good spot.

Another one PP won't price up.

                        • I've got Captain Kangaroo down for this atm, can get at 25-33s, still a Maiden but I'm sure this horse wants further than 2m which all 3 of his hurdle races have been at. Entered in both the supreme and ballymore today but hoping he goes to this instead. He beat Kilcruit, Western Run and Frontal Assault all easily in his bumper and they've all won since.

                              Thankyou sir.
I'll avail myself of that one.

                                That’s a tasty price Brital.

Hes big odds for all his three Novice Hurdle entries, I don’t think he would win at the DRF Grade 1 over 2M or 2M6F, next weekend, and with a 136 rating, this looks a good plan with 25/1 NRNB.
