i was wondering when I posted what your ( column of fire ) horse was this year
maybe a bit too early to unleash it yet
still getting over last year,so unlucky

Yeah you're absolutely right, certainly not always the classiest!
I think I'd warm to Fakiera as we got closer if he was a big price.... as an ante post poke, I don't see him shortening dramatically any time soon so perhaps that's why.
With him not being an "obvious grade 1 contender" (to my eye anyway), with it being Gordon I just always explore he could pick up a big handicap, especially when his horses run but get beaten in graded or decent non-handicaps.

      Might keep fakiera onside aswell
i find myself at this stage looking at the TWAR market especially in handicaps
also,to be fair to the Bartlett,it did look like a vintage renewal last year

Just looking at the market on william hill, 27/1 with a boost is a bit generous to be honest..he really fits the profile..it would just be about maintaining the mark he has now..hes entered into the lawlors of naas id like to see him run there, you would imagine he doesnt have much of a chance, but hell just be a shade not quite that level..which wouod be perfect

I’ll be all over this when NRNB comes around - I just think he is a ‘plodder’ and therefore could be sent the the spud (I have already backed for the spud too)

What does that win mean for Wide Receiver?

I was wondering the same thing BB.

Very nice performance but I'm not sure it's good or bad in terms of him turning up in the Pipe.

Could bring the County Hurdle into play if they decide to stick to two miles.

Still think the Pipe would be the easier option.

Pleased with it myself. Maybe 134/135 for that? Possibly a couple of pounds higher than perfect but still absolutely fine.

Depending on his mark I will have to back him even though the odds have disappeared.

My 56/1 in the Albert Bartlett not looking as good

Wide Receiver 8/1 for this...seems extremely short

                          It’s much too short.

No idea at this point who would be going for this from Gordon’s and what weight they will get.

An initial Irish rating of 130 is so low it may not even get into the race, even with a bit of UK tax, so he will most probably need to run again, and get a few lbs more added on.

Lowest rating for last five years in the Pipe (2020 first): 136, 126, 136, 135, 135.

Not helped by Stuart Williams putting him up at 12/1 yesterday. He’s almost doing us punters a disservice by putting him up when he is only priced up in one or two places ensuring he’ll be put in lower when priced up elsewhere...so frustrating

Plan A will presumably be to enter him up over here and see what rating he gets.
