Thanks Might Bite. I think Heaven Help Us is also in the Coral Cup. The Shunter unlikely to run, Ngolo has multiple entries and Ganapathi looks like going to County. I think there are 7 horses with County hurdle entries and the owner of Langer Dan has an entry (Ecco). It's going to be really tight but he might get in as no 24.

The 10/1 with B365 is still available. I'd be confident he goes off much shorter than this if he gets in.

      • There are 12 Coral Cup entries that were above Langer Dan in the Pipe entries/weights, so he now needs only 8 to come out above him in the Pipe.

There are also 8 County Hurdle entries that are above Langer Dan in the Pipe.

        Champagne Gold
        N'Golo
        Leoncavallo
        Galopin des Champs
        Ganapathi
        The Shunter
        Fire Attack
        Dolciano Dici

So its not impossible for him to get in on Friday.

The one thing that may make Dan Skelton wish he'd made more than one entry is, that he would have got into the Coral Cup today with 5lb to spare.

That would have meant two days lest rest for the horse though.

        • Cheers Saxon I was way off!

There’s hope but I’d say it’s still likely he’s going to be on the reserves.

          Keep the fingers crossed

I thought that too about the Coral Cup.

I counted 10 Coral Cup entries so hope you're right. There are a couple with Pertemps entries as well. The owner won't run Ecco if he can get in.

From the 8 County hurdle entries, Ganapathi and GDC are very strong and Fire Attack is very weak. HDB has said Champagne Gold runs here. Who knows with The Shunter but Plate is looking favourite.

I'm more hopeful than I was yesterday. It would be great to get some some redemption after Column of Fire last year.

Do do you like him Saxon and what do you make of his chance? He seems to have gone under the radar but I think that will change if he sneaks in, although Willie looks like he has a couple of well handicapped horses. I do have both of them onside.

            • Given has Ruby tipped Ngolo for the AB that could be one less headache for you

              • Interesting that PP/BF have cut FLOUEUR to 12-1 for this when still plenty of 20-1 about.

                • Gone for Fabulous Saga for this race, on a mark of 137, will finally have decent ground, its run at cheltenham in the past and came a decent 7th in the Albert Bartlett which was won by Kilbrecken Storm in 2018. The horse has had disappointing efforts over fences and now running back over hurdles and now on a 8lb lower mark its normally run over hurdles.
Taken the risk at 40/1 I can't really bet anything else in this race.

What's not to like with Langer Dan, would be bottom weight and a 5lb penalty does not cover how much he won by on Saturday.

He'd go 4/1 fav, given Skelton's handicap hurdle race planning skills, if he got in off bottom weight here.

I think he would be a worthy fav, and viying with Gentleman De Mee for my own best pick for the race. (I've backed both)

Good question and he isn't proven at the trip. I hope he gets in so we can find out.

It was bad ground at Sandown and a lot of horses were finishing tired and he was one that didn't and looked like another half mile would be fine. That may reflect the opposition he faced as much as anything as there wasn't much depth to the race. He did win very well and this race should be run to suit a hold up horse like him.

He he has form on better ground which will help and he's off a good mark, perhaps too good! It will be interesting to see who they put up, Lorcan Williams has ridden a few for Dan Skelton recently so he's probably favourite to get the ride. He has plenty of experience and ridden some nice horses this season. Brogan would be my pick of the English conditionals but he will be in demand.

                        • Can't believe LONGCLAW is 66-1 ...with 6 places Betfred

And Hills go 80-1 with 5 places.

At the weights, with decent ground and a good 3lb claimer on board he is surely not that far out of the equation.

Had a little dabble at 66s.

                          • I can't believe Sneaky Getaway isn't coming for this and now going in the Coral Cup.. oh well if connections are that happy to go for the grade3 that's good enough for me. especially at the odds still available.
