Been a great festival in the handicaps for some of the smaller yards
Don't like many in this race but Cayd Boy looks the standout bet at 20/1
The ground is an unknown but has a very unexposed profile and finished ahead of drop the anchor in his last race giving lumps of weight away. Only getting beat by a byrnes blot.
Drop the anchor then went on to win at the DRF massively franking the form.
If he handles the track and better going must have a huge chance and mark walsh has picked him.
Only other one I have backed is third time lucki.
Will likely add milkwood too at a big price.Last edited by FinalFurlong91; 18 March 2021, 03:34 PM.

This is similar to a post I made right after the initial handicap entries.
His weight increase to 149 was annoying, but he fits the profile of recent winners here, having not raced this calendar year.
He’s still my main fancy in this, the only other one I’ve backed is Eclair de Beaufeu so far, but I may look to add another later today, or go in again on Cayd Boy.
His price seems to have stayed good value since I backed him
"Journeys to Glory, breathing in his head".

The HDB//RB horses are being backed all round tomorrow.....happy to go against them!

Captain Kangaroo is interesting here. 33/1 and supported down to 20/1 and lower. Even if you forget the fact it was Kilcruit he beat, he also beat Western Run (131), Stand Off (won and is 115- has been fancied a good few times off that mark as well), Frontal Assault (we all know him 136UK), and lastly Yousayitbest (beat Gabynako in a p2p).
Complete flat pedigree, so you'd imagine running around on heavy hasn't been his bag. Still has shown form, beaten 2.5ls by On Eagle's Wings- G3 winner 137 rated. Had Limestone Rock behind him (won NTO but disappointed after that) and also Grand Paradis who probably didn't run his race but looks a tool.
Off 131 and better ground/fast pace should be right up his street. Ridden by Brian Hayes, underrated jockey....oh and dating none other than Rachael Blackmore......give the bf a moment in the spotlight ffs!

I’m going to try and make a case for Gorgeous Getaway @ 66/1. Let me know how I get on.
Ran 10th last time out in a very hotly contested Mares handicap hurdle over 2miles2f in soft sticky ground. Coming to the bend she was travelling a dream and tired out. Finished 10th behind Heaven Help Us who won the Coral Cup earlier this week.
Before that she finished 8/13 in another decent handicap in Ireland. Was travelling a dream again and a faller in front of her basically took her out the race. The interesting part of this race is that the stable jockey (paul townend) chose to ride her even though Ciel de Neige was in the race who is a well regarded Mullins horse & was sent off as short as 6/1 for the county last year.
It’s worth noting that Bryan Cooper has been booked for tomorrow’s ride - a well established jockey... why would you pay the money and have him on board if you didn’t think you had a chance?
Another of Mullins’ horses is currently being smashed in (Captain Kangaroo) they’re Backing the wrong Mullins horse!!!
This girl is literally carrying a feather on her back!!
She shouldn’t be 66/1

Had a couple of quid on Belfast banter at a big price
If you watch the betfair exchange trophy that not so sleepy won Belfast banter absolutely cruised into contention from miles back before getting tired on the run in
On better ground in an even stronger run race every chance he runs a big race

66/1 has never looked so good
