They may as well use what should be a ridiculously good mark. He needs more experience, needs to settle and jump better, but a fast pace looks likely to help, and I think he’s a live outsider at the Festival.

He was entered up in a handicap hurdle at HQ on New Years Day as well as the novice hurdle, and I wondered which option they’d take, but thought it likely they’d exploit the mark and run in the handicap. One run, go up 7lbs, and then the Ladbroke Trophy at Newbury off near bottom weight perhaps.
Luck is a dividend of sweat. The more I sweat, the luckier I get.

I've got another Novice, LLANDINABO LAD off 141 earmarked for an entry the Betfair Hurdle, hopefully.

      Love to see that happen.

Anyone heard anything on dolcita after she bled on debut for nicholls I think and was well beaten? She could be on a very nice mark for this or the coral cup if they can get her right.

Currently rated 136, she was beaten 12l by the now 150 rated concertista, but that distance doesnt tell the true story. She made a very bad mistake at the final flight and while I dont think it made any differnce to her placing, imo she would have only been beaten around 5-6l without it. Its also very conceivable that there could be just as much improvement from dolcita as concertista, if not more, given concertista was a second season novice and a year older.

All of this makes me think dolcita could very easily be up to running to a mark of at least 145 or higher with natural improvement and maybe a step up in trip to the coral cup (mullins stated a number of times when he trained her that she's a strong stayer and probably wants further than 2m).

Obviously no need to rush on this one given her recent problems and i'll be waiting until nrnb myself but she is one of a number that I am awaiting news on for these handicaps and I thought i'd give her a mention since she's not one ive seen talked about on here lately.

All those Sullivan mares to switch seem to have lost 10lbs each performance wise, some real poor runs between them for PN oddly.

Interesting form lines but as Outlaw said the horses switched to Nicholls really haven't been running at all well, plus she bleed last time.

Mullins will win this again. N'Golo, Capodanno, Ceil De Neige and Saldier are the 4 I'm mulling over. The latter is growing on me. Arctic Fire all over again.

This is one for the stupid questions thread BUT how many races does a novice have to run before getting a rating?

I really like Mr Coldstone for this but I don’t think they’ll get the runs into him?

                    Three usually.

Im not sure they’ve dropped that number for this season due to Covid, like they did with the flat season.

Ceil De Neige by far the most likely runner and winner out of that list IMO.

N'golo for the AB, Saldier almost certainly CH and I doubt Capodanno is anywhere near good enough.

CDN and Saldier the most exposed of the 4. Not sure re Saldier and Churdle. He clearly is very difficult to train and has missed so much time. Maybe he's lost a little of the ability he's had and just falls short of top class. That's the perfect scenario for running and winning off top weight in the County. I do like him for that race.

Interesting. Now 2lbs higher than Do Your Job, despite being beat by that one by 9 1/2 lengths and getting 6lbs that day.

The counter to that would be that Do Your Job had a run under his belt that day.

Great lateral thinking, on the wider impact of Cadzand's rating change.
