Only horse I've done for this race is Proschema, just worried if the horse may not qualify though which I really hope the horse does. Hes just so well handicapped, and just needs good ground on the day. I was taken by his performance in those bumper races when he won. If Proschema doesn't qualify I'll give this race a miss as I just have no idea who I would bet on instead

I was more concerned about The Shunter and whether to put more money on him - doing the double.
Would prefer him to skip Kelso though and run here off 135.
But he'd go off FAV off 140 if they tried to win both.
I ought to back him for the morebattle really.

I thought I read there is a monetary bonus for winning the Kelso race and at Cheltenham so won't be suprised if its a strong field

Question -
If either Proschems or The Shunter win the bonus race at Kelso.
Is it the standard 5lb penalty they get ??? (I know I asked this question somewhere the other day but can't remember getting an answer, apologies if someone did)
And to add to that.
If The Shunter wins and then runs in a chase at the festival and not a hurdle, does the penalty still apply ???
Both these horses look seriously well handicapped to me and it looks very much like they will be attempting to grab that bonus.

As far as I know 5lb penalty applied to all marks in same code for wins after weights released, so if a horse wins a hurdle race after weights are released and that horse goes in a handicap chase the mark remains unaltered...

I don't know for sure but assume this has to be the case...Fat Jockey Patron (est. Jan 2021)

Could be a genius piece of training by Mullins.
Win the Morebattle then win the Grand annual unpenalised and take 200k
home.
