He'll be an easy trade to leave some running if he lines up. JP has Thedevilscoachman with Meade that could come here and be very similar.

So many could be backed, but Willie's and JP's novices will attract the money.
I feel like these are the kinds of prices I end up faffing about with....

Last year Dame De Compagnie and Sire Du Berlais were similar.

    I "missed" them....

I played one of them as sort of a 'saver' in a double and ignored the other.... SDB the one I just ignored (because I fancied The Storyteller so much)...

So in hindsight, what should I have done..... backed both now at around 10/1 (8/1 NRNB and 9/1 NRNB Saldier)

Or just wait and play some on the week doubles....

    Hard to say obviously

Cheers. Bugger must have missed that. Only 8/1 with PP again and can't get more than buttons on with Betfair

        • Looking at Mullins runners in this, I like Ganapathi at 16s NRNB & have added him. I know a lot are keen on blue lord for this, but he’s half the price and I’d say has now ran on merit twice & got close to proper grade 1 horses both times. Ganapathi is similarly unexposed, was cruising & looked the winner of the Moscow flyer for a bit before being caught out in what was a strangely run race, jockey never went for his whip until the fast finishing dreal deal was practically upsides.

ran well enough again at the DRF over a trip that was clearly too far, i think he’s probably got more juice left in his Mark than blue lord will be likely to have.

I would be far more keen on Thedevilscoachman then Blue Lord, but would prefer a positive statement that he's not going to the Supreme and coming here.

Can easily leave short-priced handicap possibles, at least until targets are known.

              I'll be going with this.

I'd be surprised if Blue Lord rocks up here.
ToniC I would agree with you on Ganapathi if he was to show up, but again i have a feeling he'll be Supreme bound.

                Sky Bet Supreme Novices' Hurdle

We could see Blue Lord in there as well. After he won his maiden at Punchestown I was thinking two and a half for him, but when I ran him at Naas he was too free. I think his jumping is good enough and maybe we’ll just have a bolder approach to how we ride him. I know connections have entered him in the County Hurdle this morning, but I’m not sure he has the expertise to jump with them in the County. He might have the ability but I’m not sure he has the technique yet and I’d rather have him with the novices.

Every chance and I’d be thinking NRNB would be beneficial, no harm there as PP/BF are top price, he’s entered in everything.

Think he’s not without stamina and 2m4 would probably be ok for him but the old course 2 miles would suit well I think. He doesn’t seem to have too many unexposed types entered up this this year, I’d be amazed if blue lord didn’t go supreme myself. Galopin des champs was slightly eye catching in the Deloitte at 100/1 the last day only 3 lengths back from blue lord but I’d imagine he could be much better off than that at the weights, was fiddly at the last that day too and look to lost a bit of momentum which could have seen him finish closer up still. I think him & the aforementioned ganapathi could be my 2 darts at this, for now.

I'd agree with that as well- we are on similar paths here

Thought he'd beat Grand Roi at xmas before being too bad to be true. More like it the last day.

I’d say with horses like Blue Lord backing nrnb at the current prices makes sense. You know if he turns up he gets backed, and if you don’t want him the exchange is your friend. The same with Thedevilscoachman being a JP novice. You know both will be backed.
Luck is a dividend of sweat. The more I sweat, the luckier I get.

Seems like a lot of faffing to lock in a free bet at say 4/1?

By faffing I mean, tying up substantial stake...... for a significant return, I'd want 20 pts on at 10/1, to lay off at 5/1...

A lot of effort stake for a 5/1 shot?

It's what I'd do with a bottomless pit, but not sure it's feasible....as it's still only a 10 pt free bet at 5/1....

                              • Id fancy fire attack to reverse the form with thedevilscoachmen in a big field with a strong pace

they went so slow the other day and thedevilscoachman very much had the run of the race
