However, I am concerned that he may be given a rating nearer his chase mark.
As long as it's nearer and not actual then he'd have a chance at the price.
I've actually had it on my list for a return in the Plate, as he'd be closer to Chosen mate at the revised weights, but he's persisted with the hurdles this season, and put inexperienced jockeys on every time (always good to have someone to blame in the stewards room)
Realistically he's ran enough times over hurdles lately to not have to auto rate him on last seasons Grand annual performance. (153)
But he might do.
I'd want a low 140's mark to see him be really competitive.

that said I remember being sweet on tout est permis for the pertemps last year, and he was handicapped with just the regular tax on his hurdles mark despite his Chase Mark being much higher. Hopefully Viking is onto something I do like the angle and must admit I’m tempted...

For those interested in Master McShee the Racing Post comments ended with "trainer said gelding was found to have blood at both nostrils post race" and I'm not sure how much of an update we will get about him prior to the festival.
Wouldn't want anyone to rush into a cash out, and the blood could be a minor thing, but thought it was worth noting on here.

Im gonna try and get diego du charmil priced up for this, noticed he'd been reverted back to hurdles this year and has contested some hot races seeing his mark drop from 151 to 145, previous fred winter winner with a chase mark 10lbs higher 155, nichols has a decent record in this. Ddc contestes the christmas hurdle last time out which has thrown up some county winners in the past, notably mohaayed and also sopranzene who was also trained by nichols. Would someone be kind and try to get a price for me with sky too as its the only one have trouble with.. Thanks..

Just noticed that Capodanno is entered in a 2m 4.5 f Novice Hurdle on Thursday.
Is this the end of the County Hurdle sub plot for the Mystery Horse ?- Thursday, 11 February 2021 - 3:20
(Six day) at Thurles Horse & Jockey Rated Novice Hurdle (2m4?f)

The fact the only novice entry he didn’t get was in Supreme suggests County may not be the target

He's the xxxxing Mystery Horse, how would we know?
I suppose if he runs well for 2 miles and then slows down, or crawls along for 2 miles and speeds up ino 4th, then we may have a better idea.
If he wins at a canter then Olly Bolly might take note. But I'm not then backing him for the Ballymore, I draw the line before backing the same horse in succession for three different races at the same Festival!
We only have until Thursday to find out, well possily

So essentially, he's just shit, and not hiding anything.
I feel that's got lost along the way and people want the handicap plot to make themselves feel better for backing a horse I didn't even give the name of to justify the fact they backed it in the first place.
I can accept, the tip was shit, and the horse isn't a "plot"
I hope for all of us, we get lucky, and he is a handicap ''plot'..... but it's not the most likely outcome.Last edited by Kevloaf; 8 February 2021, 11:39 PM.
